  • Oh. I know I already commented here, but I remembered a friend from DnD who got married to his wife within a month of meeting her. He said he proposed two weeks after first meeting her. They have been married for like 40 years, kids and all. Still together. Boggles my mind whenever I think about it

  • "huh. More interesting than what I thought"

  • Yes? Occasionally people hit it off together at the pub or nightclub and they become long lasting relationships.

  • No, I can't say I was familiar with either of those. Closest I could think of would be people eating placentas but not necessarily for youth. Thanks for the reply

  • Love it lol

  • Yes I remember this but we used elastic bands instead of strings. Simply because we had them more readily accessible at school. I've also seen it done with string or yarn.

And yes usually girls would be the ones playing with that but not too exclusively.

  • I feel personally attacked. What's wrong with having the shoes already tied and forcing the feet in? Some shoes are cushioned enough to allow this, it's a massive timesaver and it doesn't feel any different from tying the laces every time.

I do use my shoes and socks many times though, I only have two pairs of shoes.

  • Am I missing some contextual information here?

  • Nooo don't be so insensitive, this user just posted about their loss of $17k Bitcoin not too long ago. What a double whammy.

  • This depends on your view of weight. For some people, weight means "we are talking about excess body fat". For others, weight means "we are talking muscle mass". In reality, it's both.

So it could very well be that someone eating more protein and water is building muscle mass faster than they are losing fat. Fat can take a while to burn down in a healthy manner. Also having more fat means you will also retain more water, of which you are drinking more now to begin with.

Of course you will weigh more. But if you keep at it you will eventually weigh less, presuming you didn't gain muscle like a hulk.

  • I thought AI would eventually make every profession based on thinking and creativity redundant or obsolete, so if you ask me we'll die of depression caused by AI. But maybe you are right and we die of dehydration first.

  • People fail to see that AI is becoming a middleman for everything that requires thinking and removing the human to human thought-based interactions from our lives. In particular the indirect human to human interactions. This is a massive loss.

The replies here got me typing so much I can't post a proper reply to this. I'll make a post and link you to it, but it will be a long one.

  • Wait wasn't there a debacle out of this not too long ago...? Gotta go read

Edit: ok so this does not change the restrictions with sideloading they announced before. From the sounds of it, it's either a new perspective on marketing or they are trying to damage control their public image, idk.

  • This depends a lot on where you live, under what kind of government, your socioeconomic background and the personality of your close friends and family.

I grew up in Argentina and I don't think anyone believes they can really trust the government. Consensus among high school kids is that everyone is corrupt and exploiting legal loopholes is considered the norm.

Now I can't say there was much of a privacy concern in my circles, in my experience, and that's still the case today, decades later, in a totally different country. So yeah it depends a lot on a lot.

  • Technically illegal yes, practically I don't think most people would care. As an artist I'd be stoked to see someone using my work as a pfp. It doesn't generate revenue, it's too small to be exploited in any other meaningful way, so it's just a small statement of personality.

  • Nothing wrong. Why would it be? sounds like your boyfriend is joking, but I would advise to keep a tab on that. Someone trying to undermine your already existing friendships is usually a big red flag.

  • Can relate. So we played for about a year the Rise of Tiamat, and near the end our party infiltrates the cultists' hideout.

For the first time since joining the campaign, the DM mentions my character found underwear in the cultists' chests of personal belongings. And just there and then, also for the first time, my character got rid of her old panties and into a fresh set of clean ones.

  • I'd become a craftsperson that's for sure, whatever I end up doing will probably be creative manual labor of some kind - pottery for example, but not limited to. It depends on the situation wherever I'm at in the hypothetical moment.

Also, as a side hustle I'd be running something like a DnD table. I'd be on a personal quest to reconstruct the rules, I'll be pretty much asking everyone I meet if they played, what they remember and if they'd be interested in joining my group. I believe with no Internet, tv, or radio, ttrpg would become extremely popular.

  • It is an important detail. Someone not familiar with feline anatomy might wonder whether straddling prey and dragging it in such a way interferes with the feline's testicles. Clearly not a problem
