I’m satisfied and proud of myself (sounds ego-ish but hear me out). When I was a kid, I was in a school for children that could (or would) not learn. All you learnt was basics of life and at 18 you just work without a degree.
I worked my way up in education from lower education to now having a bachelor degree in Finance (the exact degree everyone told me, I would never be able to get).
I’m currently taking a bit off, trying to find work and might go for master degree or something else in my country that’s equivalent to the CPA of US.
I often silently say Fuck You to the family members who always told me “you can’t do it”, “just give up” and that shit.
Recently one of my family members got license and a car. Great! However, whenever something happens that person always starts to shout, insult and behave like a child throwing a tantrum.
It made me going from “oh you want to drive to x place? Alright” to “no, it’s okay. I will take the bus” real quick.
As I’m half Arab/half European, my Arabian family tried to talk my native language. One of them wanted to say “I love you” which is in Dutch “Ik hou van je”.
He ended up saying; “ik geil van je” which translates along the likes of “I get horny of you”.
I had a lot of motivation to learn but that all crashed down when university started. Pandemic happened, professors did not want to give online classes and not allowed to ask questions in online class.
I went to university because*, I want the degree and the job with it.
We have a different opinion on this matter and that’s okay.
If professors don’t want to teach… Then don’t? Having professors that don’t want to listen, read of a PowerPoint* and such. That ain’t fun either.
Well, learning the grammar won’t be within the 5 months of the thesis. I refuse to have lots of delay just to satisfy the professor and pay the university money just for that.
Whether it is an easy route or not, I honestly don’t care. All I care about is getting the degree.
And yeah, if that person wants to stop teaching writing. That’s their decision.
I see it differently… Certainly students have to learn it. However, when a student tells you explicitly the person has problems with it and the professor refuses to listen. You can bet the students will resort to ChatGPT. It solves the current problem.
If the students just copy-paste it all then obvious they get caught.
I, personally, have had issues with grammar in my native language since I was a kid. I have books to learn but that won’t solve the immediate issue with the thesis at that time. ChatGPT solved that issue directly.
So what I did was making sure there were at least 1 or 2 mistakes.
Also I graduated and currently just waiting to get the degree and searching for a job lol.
It had a good impact for me, it saved me from an immense headache of university. I explicitly told the professors that, I have issues with grammar (despite it being my native language).
They kept freaking out about it and I eventually resorted to ChatGPT. Solved the issue immediately.
Yeah, let’s just throw away everything and never touch childhood games or even games that you do enjoy on actual good hardware. Just because a stranger deems it necessary. Such as good idea /sarcasm

Here’s the reason, you might not want to play them now and others do. As someone who did grow up with these games, I love to play them but hate Nintendo and their crappy hardware.
I can enjoy them through emulation and on a good PC. So I will (and others probably).

It's funny to me that people have such a problem with YouTube Premium.

YouTube Premium is about as close as it gets to the platonic ideal of a video subscription service. It completely banishes any ads you'd get without paying
I don’t understand what you mean here (could be because English isn’t my native language). For YouTube premium, you still need to pay. So how does it banishes ads without paying?
Anyway, you still get in-video sponsors which doesn’t get automatically skipped by YouTube’s “premium”. A lot of people (included myself) find premium expensive for what it is. I, personally, don’t need the whole package for €15-20/monthly. It could’ve been like €5/monthly to remove ads.
Sure one could use advantage of currencies but ain’t worth it when there’s uBlock Origin + SponsorBlock for Firefox, SmartTube for TV, uYou+ for iOS and ReVanced for Android.

It is not that’s “unacceptable”, it is the price and ‘value’ you get out of it.
People have to make a living, and servers don't run on magic.
Google/ YouTube (whatever) as a company are immensely rich. Toning down the price or change their tactics won’t hurt them so much. But of course they won’t, I would not either because eventually there are people who will gladly pay the €15/monthly. So why change?
