Eskating cyclist, gamer and enjoyer of anime. Probably an artist. Also I code sometimes, pretty much just to mod titanfall 2 tho.

Introverted, yet I enjoy discussion to a fault.

  • UNLIMITED TOEBEANS

  • Do you realize that number 4 is just flushing your sinuses, but badly?

When done correctly, you match the salt content of the water with your body to avoid drying out the skin inside your sinuses, allowing you to SAFELY pour in water through one nostril, and out the other. Rinsing out mucus and pollen particles alike.

It is insanely relieving, but the effect is very temporary.

What you're suggesting is just barbaric.

  • I snort anti-histamines.

I'm only half joking. Pills did nothing for me.

But nasal sprays and eye drops give almost immediate relief. When it's particularly bad I will ask the pharmacists for two types, as "doubling up" on different active ingredients can allow for increased potency. Though that is something you should absolutely ask the pharmacist for a recommendation on, as combining any two isn't necesserily effective, or safe.

If pills work for you, but don't quite get it done, you can combine those with drops/spray too. Again, consult a pharmacist. Just tell them what you've tried, and ask for a recommendation on how to get a bit more potency.

For me, stuff that you apply directly is so much more potent, and I only tried it because a pharmacist recommended it when I said none of the pills seem to help me. It was night and day.

With the nose, it's a little tricky if it has already become stuffed. Try to clear out as much as possible, before using the spray, then let it sit for as long as you can bear. Once it starts taking effect, you really want to keep using the spray before your nose starts reacting, so it actually reaches the mucus membranes, and doesn't just hit mucus, only to be blown back out.

If you can clear out your nose by flushing your sinuses first, even better.

Another bonus of taking anti histamines this way is that it doesn't make you as drowsy, as it's applied much more locally. Though this varies. Some of the antihistamine in drops and nasal spray will still make it into the blood stream.

  • Sea shanties intensify

  • I've been meaning to watch Sisu.

  • I mean, presumably this is all device-side on the stick.

It mounts the two partitions separately, and presents them separately. It doesn't need to pass through the actual SD card to the host system at all.

If you dd the decoy partition you only ever see the decoy partition. Because the decoy partition is presented as a complete device, not just a partition, to the host system.

Why would this be incompatible with linux? If this is done the way it seems it is done, it's not a filesystem trick.

It's two partitions on one SD card being presented as two separate devices by the microcontroller that has actual direct access.

The real vulnerability would be that you could just crack it open to find the SD card.

  • Great news! We've the created the Torment Nexus, from the hit sci-fi series "Don't Create the Torment Nexus"!

  • In case you're unaware, that's literally why they took to calling it that.

Technically correct, easiest to market back when people were first starting to have doubts about setting stuff we found underground on fire.

Using the word "natural" was very much a deliberate choice.

  • OMFG.

Gemini is neat, but it SSUUUUUUUUCCCKKS at being a voice assistant.

It will frequently produce a fucking essay in response to being asked to turn the lights on or off.

I just gave it a go again, 30% of the time it pretends to do what you ask without actually doing it. 20% of the time it flat-out refuses while never failing to mention that I really should enable gemini activity tracking. 40% of the time is claims this functionality does not exist, even though it was given the ability to "ask assistant" to do things only it can do (like identify music by listening to it). 10% of the time it will successfully hand off to assistant, which will then instantly do as asked.

  • Worse.

It will fucking lie and say it set a timer or reminder, and if you ask it "wtf" in response when it clearly didn't (if you notice), it'll fucking explain it's just roleplaying at being a voice assistant.

  • Orange cat, only in the brain.

  • It does work.

If you have two EFI partitions, Windows will stop looking once it finds the first one.

Which is actually a problem sometimes, as it will stop looking and use the first one it finds, even if it's on different drive than windows.

Imagine installing windows on a machine with two drives. Drive A already has an OS and an EFI partition, so you install Windows to drive B.

Except Windows will still go ahead and drop the bootloader onto drive A. Potentially breaking the OS that's there, plus setting up Windows in such a way that it requires drive A to boot. EVEN THOUGH THAT ISN'T WHERE YOU INSTALLED IT.

This is why guides tell you to install windows with only one drive connected. It's the only way to ensure it puts the bootloader and OS on the same drive.

  • That certainly helps.

In my case the solution is two EFI partitions.

Windows finds the first and doesn't bother looking for a second one, which happens to contain grub and my efistubs.

Windows will go ahead and clear the UEFI menu sometimes, but manually booting an efi file and then re-adding the grub and stub boot entries is small compared to having my stuff actually deleted.

  • That's because you can't truly delete a comment in a chain without breaking it.

If others replied to your comment, you deleting your comment would break the thread.

So a placeholder gets left behind.

  • Both terms are correct. There are a couple names.

Haphephobia is the easiest to pronounce though.

In the game we never really see Sam properly experience it. He just kinda pulls away from Deadman a little and he goes "oh you have a phobia".

The scene where they both cram into the shower to talk about BB should have had Sam on the floor in a fetal position.

But it doesn't. Several characters touch or go to touch Sam and he never reacts with more than an unspoken "pls no".

Ocean water can also be supercritical. You can find videos on youtube of under-ice water flash-freezing out from a nucleation site.

  • They have that too, but less of it.

The feathers work almost like a dry suit. Trapping a layer of air to insulate their bodies and keep them exceptionally warm, even as they swim into water that's below freezing temps.

They can't dive as deep though. Air is compressibly by the quickly increasing water pressure, so the cold will sap their body heat faster as a penguin dives deeper.

Fat isn't compressible, so seals don't suffer the same problem.

  • It would be both.

They seem to be describing a potential defect in the correction that can occur, which causes "lens flares", "blurring" or "smearing" of bright points of light. This is especially bad at night due to the contrast between lights and the darkness of the night.

It's similar to a the effect you get with a camera when there are scratches or dents in the lens surface, or if it's greasy. Except it's in your eye.
