  • As a person who is intrigued in linguistics, I wonder how AI LLMs will affect real languages. I wonder if there is any research papers on this.

  • And if you go out and order a drink, you might get 3 or 4 straws.

I have never seen that happening. Where do you live? Here in Poland you get maximum 1 straw if any, lol.

Edit: Or you mean alcoholic drink? It's possible, but I don't really drink this kind of stuff at pubs, only beer.

  • straws

I probably use a straw a single time each year, and I don't see people using straws much either, why is this a huge problem again?

  • Definitely. Even other series were interesting. I especially like his perspective of how much bloated software currently is.

...but I ultimately unsubscribed him, because the most videos were alt-right bullshit, without providing even credible sources on the biggest claims. Definitely NOT give him any traffic anymore, he doesn't deserve it.

  • Sure, but there's no transphobia here. Stop spreading nonsense.

  • Again this shit. This have been debunked many times, yet people still write this nonsense.

  • Why is there a sidebar for tabs? That seems wasteful for all the screen space it takes.

Edit: From what I see it tries to do everything that is a job of a window manager/desktop environment. There are various solutions to have workspaces, etc. that you can use globally, so I don't understand why would anyone use this, unless you are on locked system like Windows or Mac.

  • I think it could be sensible to come out with a subset of modern web tech stack, and just use that. There could be even a lightweight web browser just for this subset. The problem is of course on agreeing with what would be included.

  • I've looked it up and apparently there's a problem where if you open a new window with any amount of tabs and close it last, you will lose all your tabs on the first window. It's a big no for me, because I already had to restore last opened windows in Firefox many times, and I am pretty sure you previously could just press CTRL+SHIFT+T and it did reopen them, although I might misremember things.

  • You don't need iTunes to upload music to iPod, although it's still not as user friendly as opening it as regular storage device.

  • Isn't stock iPod OS good enough? I remember it being instanteneous for things like playing next songs, or switching albums. That's what I never experienced ever again. For YouTube Music it sometimes takes few seconds to play the next songs and it drives me crazy.

  • Hey, I usually like to have about 50 PLN (~$12.50) in my wallet, but you can't expect everyone to keep loads of cash on them.

  • I recently shared a meal with a female friend. Imagine how I'd look if I wasn't able to get money transferred from her, because of not having a mobile banking app.

  • Can't wait for them to remove Calculator, since you can ask AI to calculate stuff, you know.

  • If they made it more useful, people would use it. Making support for modern formats, maybe even Markdown could have been added and it would already be 5x more useful. Also add another set of basic features like tables, some advanced formatting to the mix as well.

  • People at Microsoft doesn't understand what people use Notepad for.

If they wanted to add AI features, they should have added it to WordPad, and make it more modern / add some useful functions.

  • I haven't used iPods for like 25 years now, but I always liked that you could instantaneously switch songs, and on modern streaming apps I sometimes need to wait for like a second, because it does god knows what in the meantime.

  • Git is so ready to understand, that I don't understand how people work without it.
