About 2 weeks ago, packing a few belongings and my cats into a car to evacuate from an impending flood. Didn't know when I would be back home or what condition it would be in when I did.
The secret to it is to learn which kind of misery to keep pushing through and which kind of misery is an emergency stop. You gotta get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Then... It kind of becomes more comfortable.
This doesn't answer your question, but if you have an idea of what you want, or who you want to be, do those things. I'm closer to living the life I want to live because I asked myself "who do I want to be? And what does that person do?" and then I worked on doing those things. I have a ways to go, but I'm who I want to be.
I made it a personal rule that if I have a $5, it goes to whoever asks. I don't seek people out, but if it's asked, and I have that five dollar bill with me, it's theirs.
