  • This whole yearly tax thing seems like so much unnecessary work to me. Here in the UK we have a "pay as you earn" system. Taxes get deducted from your wage automatically every time you get paid and it's all recorded. No extra steps needed. You only need to do extra reporting if you have significant income from other sources e.g. owning a business and getting dividends.

  • If BBT was made today it would be accused of being written by AI. Fully flanderised characters, and endless filler episodes.

  • "Sir, can you keep it down?"

  • House prices are set by supply & demand.

House builders won't overbuild as it harms their sale prices so that won't cause an oversupply.

The only way that the ratio can change in the buyers favour is if suddenly an ungodly number of people die for some reason or the general population's finances collapse to the point where they are no longer trying to buy a house. You're likely to be one of the victims if either of those things happen. All you can do is keep saving.

  • I always find that punching them helps the pain go away faster

  • Not sure about the boy comment. Rowling is a TERF, but that also means that she's a feminist. Also she didn't put her first name to the series because she had previously struggled to get her writing taken seriously when the publishers knew she was a woman.

It's easier explained that this is a book series aimed at preteens, not hard fantasy fans. They got insanely popular because they captured people's imagination but she wasn't trying to world build like Tolkien.

  • Harry Potter meets Cyberpunk 2077

  • I think I remember that, Quidditch world cup? It was like a special move for Slytherin in the training chapter.

  • Most of the kids didn't go to Muggle schools or interact with them. Harry's situation was uncommon.

  • They don't. That's all considered Muggle stuff that they don't need to know because they can just magic their way through life.

  • UK. It's actually alright here despite our culture of complaining about everything.

Weather is predictably dull and boring, but in a world of climate change that's not such a bad thing anymore.

Wages are outpacing the cost of living once again so that's nice.

Politics is just the usual arguing/ bitching about the economy. Everyone blaming each other blah blah blah. Storm in a teacup really.

US news is getting a bit scary, seeing the president cosying up with the enemy and appearing to want to let them take Ukraine in exchange for half of their minerals means that I don't think we'll be considering them a close ally in the near future. At least not a reliable one.

  • Some chinesium computer mouse. I had low expectations but it worked perfectly for a good 7 years before the mouse wheel died. It even had RGB, removable weights, and variable DPI/pointer speeds!

  • I get a searing pain up the side of my face if I yawn incorrectly

  • Escape

    Jump
  • Yeah, seeing an entire room filled with cubes is very ugly and stifling, but as an introvert I'd want at least one place where I can just work out of sight as it reduces my stress levels significantly.

  • Even America doesn't have proper free speech. You can't just go and make bomb threats without ending up behind bars. And didn't some woman get charged with terror offences a few weeks ago for saying or graffitiing something pro-luigi?

  • Same but towards the blast. I've seen Threads, I ain't hanging around for that shit.

  • I thought it was someone walking into a room, forgetting why and leaving. Their sick daughter was there.

  • New PC graphics cards alone cost as much as entire games consoles. The top end ones cost the same as multiple PS5s. That's why consoles exist.

  • I am on principle because what the fuck is the point of all this industrialisation and technology development if we aren't trying to break out of the cycle of scarcity?

As for how it can be properly funded: fuck knows.
