  • Nothing, and the whole "grammar nazis" thing is rotten. There is never a reason to have any other reaction to being corrected about objective things than learning from the mistake. If someone shows you the spelling or grammar mistakes you made, read it and memorise the corrections. You're not losing anything by getting better at communication, you only gain. It doesn't take you five minutes longer to spell the words correctly and you don't make yourself look like an idiot, child with learning disabilities or someone who seriously doesn't care about the most basic and expected shit we do for others. Language is an astounding tool and people who spot on it by not caring about spelling and grammar should be forced to take classes and taught to see how important it is.

    Stopped using social media (other than Lemmy) years ago and I never take photos of myself so these were the only ones I could find right now. Got about 10 vests and so, so much more, all thrifted.

  • I had that reaction but all over my whole torso the last time I was in a sauna. I've been in saunas many times but never experienced anything like that before, it was so weird to literally feel the sweat come out of you.

    I can only imagine it must have been even weirder for you since it was just because of some hot snacks and from such a localised area.

  • You seem to be unaware that they have nicotine in them. There are kinds without it, and they generally look the same as those tobacco-free nicotine pouches. But Zyn and most other common brands have nicotine, which is a stimulant, the same one you get from tobacco Snus.

    I personally dislike those tobacco-free ones though as they make me feel I'll, and I've tried many kinds (and it's not the nicotine amount, as I've used strong tobacco snus daily for half my life and have no issues with even stronger than that with tobacco snus).

  • The number of times I've had to explain to adults that the sun is a star is way more than it should be. It never stops being so disappointing too that even the most basic shit, not this exclusively, is just something so many people don't know, think about, have any interest in and don't ever read more than the sparse title about that thing in the news (those titles and articles often being partly of fully false).

  • Avatar was always about being a visual feast, which Avatar 2 definitely succeeded in IMO. I like them for what they are, great popcorn flicks.

  • Yeah, the only two antivaxxers I know (more did know) have fried their brains to mush with drugs so them believing that shit isn't surprising. I did lots of drugs in my 20s and knew a lot of people who did even more than me, and the two people who were always the "worst" with their use are the only ones I am aware of who are antivaxxers (In Sweden, it's not common here at all). They'd lick a literally turd if they saw someone sprinkle some unknown powder on it just for the chance of it making them high in any way, but they would fight to their death if anyone tried to vaccinate them specifically only with a covid vaccine.

  • With how common and popular female sex toys modeled after animal and fantasy creature penises, tongues etc. are this just makes sense. And having known some horse girls in my life, yeah, I'd not be surprised at all to learn many have fantasies like that. I always found the "horse/dragon/tentacle etc. dildo" thing pretty fucked up, I'm sure many of those people (and people in general) would not like it if they heard about "horse/dragon/whatever fleshlight or sexdoll for men". (Never seen or heard about that existing, but I'm sure it does).

  • What is something unexplained that you experienced?

  • I've seen two UFOs, both with several other people there who also saw them.

    The first one was when I was a kid (around 12) with my mom and other random people on the street, we saw two blue lines of light that went parallel across the whole sky, and purple spotlights in a line between them that turned on and off after each other. I'd have said it was just my child's mind making things up if it weren't for my mom, who still tells this story often, and everyone else who saw it.

    The second one was when I was about 23, my then girlfriend and me were waiting on a tram during sunset with about 10 other people, the sky was fully covered in clouds and there were these two orbs, one black and one white, that zoomed around incredibly quickly then stopped on a dime and then went another direction, very erratic movement. They went up and disappeared into the clouds then came back down in a different place. After a couple of minutes, they stopped kinda close to each other then slowly flew closer to one another and when they were so close they became one they lit up brightly with a blue shine and shot up into the clouds, the light from them was so strong that we saw it through the clouds for several seconds as they seemed to exit earth's atmosphere and become smaller and smaller from our point of view.

    To be clear, I'm very much a skeptic of stuff like this and I'm very scientifically minded. I still have no idea what any of them were, nothing even close to a logical explanation. But to me it's not much more than "dang, that was cool as fuck and weird, wonder what it was?", I don't want or need to think they were aliens, something form the future, classified military stuff or whatever. I'll never know what they were and I've just accepted that.Nothing else I've seen, both in person and in video, photographs etc. is good enough to convince me there are beings or tech here that isn't from us, or is some military or any other way secret high-tech or "different-tech".
