Hi hi~ just a chill fellow looking for something to scroll through when I'm bored! I'm into art, dogs, videogames, music, anime and a bunch of things!! I hope we can all get along (❁´▽`❁)✲ﾟ (My name is a reference to the genus lycaon that African wild dogs belong to!)

  • I don't see people talk about the Katamari Damacy games very much which is a shame because I think they're delightful! I also wish more people talked about Cattails (especially the sequel, Cattails: Wildwood Story), these games deserve more love imo haha

  • I think Tumblr is still fun! It's not as lively anymore and the staff suck, but no algorithm means you really only see stuff you choose to see and the tag blocking makes it so easy to curate your experience.

    And I'll take weird unhinged ads over TikTok shop or whatever happens on Twitter any day lol

  • Unfortunately my stuffed animals have been relegated to living in the closet since my real animal takes up their former bed space, and also loves shredding plushies lol. But that was me until a few years ago!

  • Animal Crossing Wild World! I like New Horizons a lot too, but there's just something about Wild World that's cosy in a way no other game has been able to replicate for me

Especially interested in the static site hosting since right now I use an American service (Porkbun) for my own site, $30/year for 1 gb which is enough for me, but if I could switch to a European host for a similar price I totally would!

  • For me, what worked best has been smaller sites/communities! Specifically art/roleplay spaces (with the caveat these spaces also have a lot of drama and people who live for said drama) and virtual pet sites somehow lol. But I also feel like people online just aren't as interested in talking or having actual conversations as much as they used to, so it's less about looking in specific places and more about just... Getting lucky and finding someone on your same wavelength I suppose.

    Gaming can be another way to meet people too. Can't speak from experience there, but my brother was super involved in the Hearts of Iron IV modding community for years and made friends through it!

  • My grandmother's great uncle (so talking about the late 1800s) was killed by lightning while out on horseback during a storm. Pretty crazy odds huh?

    For something spicier, around the end of Italy's involvement in WWII Mussolini called his followers to move to the north of Italy. My aunt's family were fascists (my aunt was a child at the time) and they were planning on going there too with this bus that was gathering fascists to move them all north. My aunt's family had one massive trunk with all their belongings and it didn't fit into the bus so they were forced to stay... Which was ultimately a good thing because that bus was stopped by the partisans who gunned everyone down before reaching Milan. So my aunt dodged a bullet, both figuratively and literally oof
