  • I do wear glasses and I came here to post exactly your first sentence. There probably is a difference, sure, but I personally can't see it unless I put both files next to each other and really try to see it.

    I've been digitising our movie collection so I played around with resolutions to minimise the storage space needed - I did settle on doing everything in 1080p but mostly because it feels weird to use a resolution the internet tells me is bad and I'm vulnerable to peer pressure (voice in the back of my head "oooh but what if anyone ever looks at those files?? What'll they think???" type nonsense).

    I also had a few files that came in much higher resolution that I re-encoded to fractions of their file sizes and honestly same effect.

  • They don't make me "happy" but I'm also not simply "sad" without them. They stabilise my mood, they prevent the big dips, the deep abysses, where everything is stupid and bullshit. They enable me to deal a little better with bad shit happening so that not every little fuck-up makes me crash.

    Some people might call that "dulling" or similar but I really prefer this over despairing at every little thing.

    However, it's worth noting that, especially in case of psycho-active drugs, everybody reacts differently to them. Most people try a handful of different drugs before they find one that fits. That's to be expected so if the first one doesn't work or causes intolerable side-effects, there are plenty alternatives.

  • Not Halloween because that's not a thing here but for Karneval I had the coolest Spider-Man costume. At least it's the coolest in my memory. Anyway, imagine a beaming 7-year-old running around as Spider-Man for months at every opportunity with her blonde hair sticking out under the hood (which was really more like a Daredevil cap, probably so that kids don't asphyxiate themselves).Then I lost the hood. Still used the rest as a pyjama for as long as I fit in it.

    Another time I was a witch disguised as a clown. I don't know why. It was really just a collection of weird, mismatched clothing articles and some clown make-up.

    And for some reason, at one point I REALLY liked this guy:

    Not Mickey but the Phantom Blot. REALLY wanted to be him for Karneval. So my mum took an old sheet, dyed it black and then I had to explain to everyone in my class, one after the other, that 'no not the phantom of the opera.....'

    12/2 = 6+7 = 13. Since they're the older one, the other person is younger than 13, thus they can't date them.
