  • Since you feel like quoting things is conducive to proper discusion:

Is it legal for a business in the United States to refuse cash as a form of payment?

There is no federal statute mandating that a private business, a person, or an organization must accept currency or coins as payment for goods or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether to accept cash unless there is a state law that says otherwise.

Section 31 U.S.C. 5103, entitled "Legal tender," states: "United States coins and currency [including Federal Reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal Reserve Banks and national banks] are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues." This statute means that all U.S. money as identified above is a valid and legal offer of payment for debts when tendered to a creditor.

  • Pennies only have to be accepted if there is a state law saying so. For example in California if a landlord refuses a cash payment (pennies or otherwise) then the tenant basically gets free rent that month. Businesses generally set their own rules as to what is accepted. Just like you see signs saying "No bills over $20" - 50's and 100's are legal tender, but they can refuse them just like a bucket of pennies can be refused.

  • Similar to the Yahoo email I created when I was 14. Somehow C0d_G0dx69_420@yahoo (Made up but similar) isn't quite the professional impression I want to make now a days.

  • Im not sure when the update came out but I've had two forced updates in the past 3-4 months for my Pixel 6. Im assuming thats when it changed. I am very meticulous about checking settings after updates but It looks like this was only online settings for your google account, not local to the phone, which is probably how I missed it.

  • Funny how I turned off any data sharing for google years ago but the inclusion of gemini somehow voids my previous decision.

  • That's just slavery with extra steps.

  • She got them Zoidberg feet.

  • That brings up a good point though. Based on just the screenshot here, it seems like the user wont have a choice of what gets uploaded. People keep some pretty raunchy photos on their phone sometimes. Even kids might have some questionable photos. This is just asking for trouble.

  • I put foil insulation on some of my bigger windows in the summer. Especially southern facing windows (in northern hemisphere). That mixed with tons of fans and the occasional cold towel when needed helps tremendously.

  • Id guess right handed people draw it "backwards" like that because they are more likely to draw a circle counterclockwise from the top, leaving them in position for a slash in that direction.

  • Just don't get a portable unit. They suck and are just a waste of money most of the times.

These are portables if you're unfamiliar.

  • First movie that popped into my head was What Dreams May Come. Robin Williams goes through heaven and hell to try and save his wife's soul. Great flick with some amazing visuals (especially for the time).

  • FWIW, I didn't vote this past election. Not for lack of trying, mind you. I sent for a mail in ballot and it never showed. I corrected my address (which somehow got switched to an old address) and requested another and every time, the site would throw an error. By that point it was too late and I would need to vote in person which didn't work because of the address thing. And before people go "well you should have made sure first", I did. I verified everything months prior and it changed my info after....

  • You know, when it was beans or jeans or whatever that one guy was spamming like crazy, It stuck out like a sore thumb to me. I found it rather tiresome TBH. But with the moths, I just laughed. Perhaps I've seen the light?

  • I was goofing around at the park as a kid, and climbed up to the top of a pavilion. I went to get down by grabbing the ledge under the roof and kinda flipping off the edge, but stuck my hand next to a wasp nest without noticing. I got about halfway through my flip and they stung the crap out of my hand, causing me to let go and fall flat on my back onto the concrete below. Screw wasps; Bees are cool though.

  • Jack Black. I think it was around the time he started up his Jablinksy crap on Youtube. There were tons of "organic posts" on reddit about it and it just didn't sit right with me. Ever since I can't stand him.
