  • apart from the normal ones: balls/flying objects above the size and weight of a badminton ball.Its because at every opportunity someone accidentally threw a ball into my face.It got to panic attacks after a shoe landed in my face.

    The fear got to the level i can only get to close proximity of a sport ball if i know the intent of balldirection is opposite of where im standing (its possible for others to kick a ball to a goal but not to kick it back, they would need to carry it). Else i dont even visit very ball sporty places

  • i know exactly what you mean. Ive indoctrinated myself with concepts such as human rights, privacy and linux.Im such a nuisance to the people around me, especially with privacy as a lot feel like they have no chance and got used to it(i try to limit the annoying to useful stuff so they are less annoyed and i can influence them more later)

  • i assume i got lucky but at least i know that they are only dead when (probably my) blood is spilled. i will never risk pests getting out alive after my experience with head lice

    Edit: also i think i got very lucky so im biased and still dont want more exporiences with them

  • yes, that made it hard to find after i finally got at least the swedish name and tried to translate it.I used wikipedia as a translator in the end (open article in different language and chose a language then i understood)

  • i think they think about booth.Because the fly does shed its wings and likes hair but according to wikipedia only the ticks carry dangerous disease.Also booth seem annoying to remove and at least the fly (like lice) seems to needs a bit more force

  • Edit: you may confuse the deer flies im thinking of with the deer flies (yes, thats some nice naming there) You probably mean those: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer_fly There also seems te be deer ticks which can also be dangerous and adds to the naming confusion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ixodes_scapularis

    Meant harmless to human because they do not really carry disease.I dealt with two and learned mostly about the scarce ressources on web so i dont really have actual experience

  • Probably it was scared too. I hope you can overcome your fear as moths are harmless, maybe they scare a bit, but still harmless (and facinating but i like insects so its biased). I defeated like 2 fears (spiders & fear of human touch) and may should fight against fear of "balls/things thrown that every single time landed in my face" but that one is harder because of desinterest and that its not an irrational fear. So i very much understand if you keep it because i very much do the same

    Normally at least its worth it to fight the fear as long as there is intrinsic motivation (its the easy mode)
