Its not only in google purchases. Almost all digital assets are licensed based, you buy a license. You don't own anything and it fucking sucks. I therefore try to buy CDs of games or movies if possible
For this you would need an app (could be a web app) which lets you interact with lemmy as a mastodon user. The problem here is the UI and the format of the data. Currently format is something can't really help.
But find a UI app which lets you comments and follow through any mastodon/lemmy instance and display posts in lemny style.

In an off topic, I often prefer a open hardware router like raspberry pi router as it gives me control! For me it's safer to use as documentation is open like pfsense and openwrt.
There are lot of resource and effort put in place for crimes against regular people. Rescue operations and holding justice has come a long way, although it's not perfect. They dont appear in news often because its just regular people.
Because of attention of media and since it is a significant person who died, there is significant attention give from law enforcement to this case.
The differnce is just attention and not about resource.
We saw more update of this particular situation from media which may have caused a bias of thinking "resources and efforts are little for regular people".
