  • Nah, if Musk pisses off Trump he loses hard and fast. Trump could easily get away with making it an official act to strip Musk of all his wealth and instead of turning it over to the state, turn it over to the GOP. Use the guise that it is not communist because they are turning it over to a private company, not the government and it was all done for security reasons after Musk commited treason in dealings with Putin.

    The GOP controls the house and Senate, so they wouldn't vote for impeachment, it checks the boxes for being pro capitalism, and anti Russia. And they make buckets off of him. The penalty they set for his Treason, execution. To show they are hard on crime and believe in the death penalty.

    Doubt they would even need to fabricate any evidence, it is already there.

  • Don't know if you had seen elsewhere, but I cut him out of my life after hearing both that no black person can raise a child, and all Puerto Ricans are lazy and milk the syste. .. he has 2 sons me, no kids, and my brother, who married a Puerto Rican Lawyer and had 2 kids. His parents one born in Sicily, the other born in Brooklyn and went back to Sicily at 2 years old before he came back later. Aka natural born citizenship is what his citizenship is based off of.   • 180,000 rides a week happen right now using this practice for Waymo right? They are just copying the practice. 0 cars are being driven by remotely people to and from places. It's fear mongering. If a car gets stuck because it's sensors believe something is in front of it, it will stay stopped and flag a handler to evaluate. The person will say your fine move forward or tell the vehicle to stay where it is until someone moves the shopping cart someone left behind it. Once moved, they'll re-enable the car and it will go on its way.

    If there is actually something wrong like someone rear ending it at a stop light, then they may put it into some liml mode, give it a parking lot close by to pull into while they watch, then turn it off to await someone to show up and assess damages.

  • Yarp. This all being sensationalized before we see the actual product and see how it is being implemented. They aren't remotely driving cars at 50mph down a highway, they are going to remotely tell the car to pull over when someone puts a cone on the hood at a stop light as a prank, or if it gets stuck where it believe it may hit something in every direction, where it is stopped and someone will evaluate the risk via the cameras and guide the car in the best direction. So likely you need 1 person for a very large number of cars.

  • I made an entire syllabus for my high school using on mouse over effects and drop downs with course descriptions, prerequisites and mappings for all future courses/paths. That was around 2005 or 2006. I didnt bother with Dreamweaver because how frustrating it was. Wrote the entire thing by hand using notepad. I don't even think I did it for a grade, it was just me being so sick of us not having a proper syllabus that you could access online. Just printed copies that would say you need to have this prerequisite, but it didn't list what page that other course was on so you had to flip around all over to find it and then figure out what prerequisites were needed there. Got so frustrated I just made my own.

    When we were going to move into a new place a year later or so my girlfriend at the time and I were trying to figure out what furniture we wanted or how we would want to situate things to fit in our new place. We couldn't visualize what each other were saying well and know if desks/dressers what not would fit where we wanted. Thus I opened my old web pages, took the blueprint map for the apartment and created a quick drag and drop web page where you could take each item with a name on it and drag it into rooms, place them all where we wanted and then she could play with it and see what didn't fit side by side due to size, and screen shot what she liked/didn't like. Having previous projects put together and being able to just copy previous scripts, probably took me 45 mins to throw together. Settled all issues of "that probably won't fit" and let her play with it when I was at work.

    Overkill, possibly.. but it was fun at the time (The syllabus took a long ass time, but that had intentions of the school being able to use it off their website to allow students/parents help plan their own futures)

  • Myspace also got a number of people playing with HTML and CSS if I remember correctly. It's been years. Not sure CSS is actually even used anymore. I enjoyed web design classes back in the 2000s. Macromedia still owned Dreamweaver and it wasn't all that great, so I could still do better by hand. I haven't played around with any of it in years now, but I assume those programs have GUIs that blow away anything that can be written in notepad like back then.

    If you've never trouble shot 100 pages of JavaScript in notepad because you didn't have access to other tools, you haven't had "fun" before. ...fucking nightmare. Find out you put an extra space somewhere.

    The better you got though you'd narrow down finding those errors quickly, and then eventually find out a fucking free program will color code the shit and tell you to look at line 232 because it doesn't make sense

  • Yeah, that's why Biden started the process of having them re-evaluate what it was scheduled as. But to make it legal, the legislative branch has to write the legislation.

    All the executive branch is supposed to do is execute legislation.

    Those orders being what is written by the peoples representatives (Congressmen and senators).

    Right now either:

    A: the majority of Americans don't want marijuana legal and that's why it's illegal.

    B. The representatives are not representing what the people want.

    If the second one is true, it is our civic responsibility to vote those representatives out of office.

    In 2020 and 2022 the decriminalization of it was voted on. If this is an issue you believe is misrepresented, every member of congress that voted against what you want you should want removed.

    Then we need to look at the Senate and vote against every member who voted against it as well.

    That's how the peoples voices are supposed to be heard. Is it the best system, no. But it's what we have and we don't have enough people wanting to change it.

  • Then figure out what you want and go to a trade school. Where do you live (state). Even Tennessee will pay for that if you live there. Trade schools were promoted by Obama when he tried to figure out free education. Yet the majority of voters faught it. That isn't the majority of people, it just means people like you, who want trade school made as an investment for the future was chopped short. But it doesn't mean it's over. Talk to your city, , county, state they may have people you can call for assistance. Often times, it's either the Catholic Church or government. Either doesn't matter. The Catholics won't require you to attend church or pledge some shit, they just want to know you fit their wage requirements to help as many people as possible.

  • Agreed, that's why I was asking more about perception and mentioned it as an entertainment piece in the comment above. Sometimes speculation can be fun though. Some of my fondest memories of technology coming out aren't from the use, but the moments of discussion, expectations, and waiting. Like I never had a Wii, but I remember waiting for the Wii to launch at midnight back in the day. Sometimes you learn a lot more about a product than you would otherwise ever have looked into once it was already out by discussing the up and coming and comparing post launch.

    Will I ever own this product.. I doubt it. But someday a product built off pieces of it's design or maybe even largely copied, possibly.

  • Wouldn't "The company is planning its official debut in the Korean market in January 2025." mean they are well beyond maybes if it is set to debut in less than 2 months? They already have had to produce the battery for the nail testings they mentioned as well as the adding and modifying of individual cells. I am no expert on batteries just interested and trying to learn more. But knowing how productions/releases work with cars/electronics in the U.S. I would have to assume they have had this completed for almost a year at least and are waiting on that debut to launch. Thereby making it entertainment journalism if you will because they just know bits of information as maybe more hasn't been leaked.

  • I'm sure this will get downvoted but whatever it seems fun to ramble. The president is basically a glorified cop. He can tell all of his soldiers to do his bidding, but a cop cannot act outside of the law without getting enough people to cover for him. If he breaks the law the legislature (review board in that example) would vote to have him removed from his position.

    A cop cannot make up laws. He can lie to someone and say something potentially unlawful is legal but all lawfulness would be reviewed and depicted by the judicial branch from laws that were already written and the situation "rectified" in some manner (whether a slap on the wrist or extreme). Usually in the presidents case, they throw out what he said, or they request Congress to discuss it, which could start the impeachment process.

    He commands what may currently be the most powerful army in the world, be he can only play with his toys when mom and dad say it is okay, and he has to be in bed by 9:30 as it's a school night.

    That's why it is so much of a danger when one party owns both parts of the Legislative branch, easily the most powerful branch (so long as the constitution holds). If dad says you can go to bed at 10, and mom says no, bedtime stays at 9:30. If the party owns both congress and the senate, them mom and dad can agree bed time is at 11, and you can eat cake all you want. If the courts say cake is illegal after 6:30, mom and dad agree to write a new rule that cake time goes to 11. As we want our spoiled child to be able to run rampant.
