Thank you so very much. I needed to transfer some files locally yesterday and didn't have a NAS set up. So I thought I would quickly set up a samba share on my pop-os media server so my spouse (windows) and I (mint) could swap/store files on the fly in the future. It took me 25 minutes and I almost gave up because my config file was having issues.

Requesting information isn't limiting free speech is it? Now if that algorithm shows it is indeed limiting or promoting people's speech in a non-equal manner, that would be limiting people's free speech would it not?
How does one get rid of misinformation and tell it to not give real answers. I just don't get how you can say weather anomalies are consistently occuring more and more.. and it is not tied together at all. It's like trying to do math and having 10 apples. But we cannot recognize we have a total 10 apples. So we say we have 10 individual appels, but we can't say they add up to ten.

Remember how people used to lie and say they were sleeping over at their friend's house or going to so and sos so they wouldn't have to say where they were. Now I guess they can hand their phone to their friend at school/bus and tell them to take it home and carry their watch/tablet/laptop that they can get/respond to texts without the tracking location being on with that device.
If you get a self cleaning litter box and a couple scratching posts you will have a good experience. Really w.e toys you get they will be fine with, but they will prefer all the things you don't give them. Straw wrappers, cardboard boxes, paper grocery bags. As for 8 hour days you'll be fine. The cat personality will dictate how it acts when you get home. Our cat acts like I have been gone for years if I leave for 30 minutes, even if my spouse was here the whole time. And other cats won't care much at all.
Most cats won't come on command, but most of my cats have come and cuddle and sleep in the bed. They will play, and they will want to sit with you on the couch. Sometimes less is more with a cat. I give the cat less attention than my spouse does, and the cat tends to want my attention more then.
Warning. They scratch things. Find them alternative things to scratch. And if you have a laptop, close the screen when you are not in the room, or they might scratch the keys out because they seem like toys. Also, when your laptop is closed it is like a warming pad, so they will probably try to nap on it. When you get up from the couch and go to the bathroom, they will follow you to the bathroom, then run back to the couch and try to nap where you were sitting because it's now a warm spot.
They are VERY easy pets. And mostly like warm spots to nap
I think they are saying it occurred on lemmings.world but they are referring to a post on lemmy.world, possibly put there to get more viewers. Not sure what is blocked from the U.K. fully, but posting it to lemmings wouldn't help U.K. people see it if they are blocked there. Could be the logic.
All Google has to do is stop paying Firefox for their search engine to be default and Firefox will likely file for bankruptcy or something. If Google doesn't win their appeals and has to separate their services I'd fully expect Mozilla to die hard and fast. I'm not saying Google shouldn't be broke up, it should. But Firefox runs off a monopoly's charity. When 81-86% of your revenue comes from another company, they own you. If Firefox had to cut 80% of their staff and infrastructure I don't see anyone giving them a loan to recover.

Thanks yeah I just swapped it to Firefox from Cromite and it played in browser. Cromite has been great for some things and makes me jump through hoops on others it seems. The privacy settings seem so intense that everywhere I look it's asking me if I'm human, and I'm trying to tell it I'm not a dancer so I must be. I almost moved back to Firefox the other day trying to get privacy pass working so I could bypass cloudflares human checkers, but gave up when it was only for Desktop. The search goes on
There used to be a phone number you could call and it just played the song. I put it my email signature at work and forgot about it.
