  • No I called Catholics cannibals, which they believe they are. The Eucharist being the actual transformation into the body and blood of Christ is one of the main differences between Catholics and some protestant denominations that split off. Methodists for instance, do not. Lutheran's believe it is a physical transformation and not just a spiritual ceramony one either.

    Thereby, they intentionally eat a person's flesh and blood every Sunday, or rather they try to.

    Also I never called Muslims Zealots, I called them terrorists, because that's what I learned from the news. Which was obvious satire... Zealots are obsessive, not necessarily terrorists. A good example of zealots would be the Jesuits.

    (Though one could argue Jesuits were church sanctioned terrorists... But that's besides the point)

  • I don't think we should hire any Catholics because they believe eat humans and drinking their blood is legitimately okay. The people who believe God decides anything in day to day life should all be fired for not being able to accept scientific theory, which is the same scientific theory that drives the economy in which this company runs. I mean come on they are clearly braindead drones who believe anything they are told and have proven they can't innovate anything new that could help us. Also all Muslims are terrorists, they've been proving it on the news every night for decades, we shouldn't hire them either.

    In most companies they would just get rid of you for talking about the news / politics. If you fire someone for preaching their religion the company can be sued for illegally terminating an employee do to their religious beliefs. It's not a good idea.

  • Comically enough I didn't think about it long, I actually had it up and running on my jellyfin server by 11 this morning. Haven't played with it much yet just set my router DNS to it.

    So now it's my jellyfin/Files/Caddy/DNS server. It's an old HP laptop my spouse has that I just hard wired and remote into using RustDesk. Works great even though the network cards arent great, and most of the storage is just an external USB drive.

  • I've never tried Pihole but maybe I'll try to set it up. What happens when ads try to play when it's enabled? Are they just blank? Or if someone is watching a streaming service and an ad tries to come up what happens?

    Also what happens if the device running Pihole goes down, as in if I have it running from an old device and it loses connection or restarts. Does everything just stop resolving names until it's back up? (I assume that's what happens like normal dns servers, but I'm trying to think of a device I have that won't be shut off, my media server has a lot going on with it at the moment, and is far from my router, I should move it)

  • Growing up in the U.S. Ive never been able to shock myself plugging in a type A or B connection. 35 years in and never met someone in person who had ever complained about doing so. Now dryer plugs annoy me. They are the 220/240v, and I know there are at least 3 different types. So I've had to swap the power cords on the dryer in every place I've lived in. (I just keep the old ones). But if you rent a place built in 1970, 1985, and 2010 (random dates). They will all likely have different outlets.

  • Some people say it does with certain devices but I've never had anything I've run into. The American outlets have been used as bi-directional in most instances. (With 2 prong). If they had a ground then you can only go in one way. But that said... Obviously a cord without a ground can still plug into an outlet that has the ground set up. If the device wants the current to go in a certain direction they use one with a slightly larger prong on one side, but if you pick up any phone charger in America, you can plug it into any outlet any direction.

  • All the AI racks are Linux based and are built on Nvidia graphics. Meta and Google were ordering iterations of GB200's ranging from $2-4million per rack. (Did some diagnosing issues on racks/servers that failed tests after coming off the assembly lines as a subcontractor). So I'm afraid you are right about moving the needle there.
