  • I mean what were they expecting? Anyone left of MAGA (and many MAGA people) know he was a person with horrible views. But it's a funeral, no one's trying to go debate a dead person's views at their funeral. Only terrible people would stand there at someones funeral and try to use it to gain something.

  • Yeah, isn't truth social part of activitypub, just defederated.. like Mastodon instances probably have blocks up if truth social doesn't have it on their end

  • More than a handful, less then a metric fuckton.

  • More than likely they have all been in a group contact and discussion with their lawyers and are figuring out the best route forward. Patience isn't always cowardice, sometimes it's just intelligent.

  • I thought you were making a Jimmy Carr joke there for a second

  • Yeah, I have the advantage of knowing what to look for as well, as I've deployed Windows to 1,000s if not 10,000 computers or more over the years.

So I knew to look to make sure it wasn't going to auto update, which I assume many don't think of it

  • It would keep on without him, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be inticed not to do so.

  • Sure, then everything in history would be "remembered" forever... Except no one would know or care. To me, that is not remembered.

I would say Jesus is forgotten completely at this point even though he is written/read everywhere

  • I partitioned 80gb off for work and installed Windows 10 on it. Install was fast, it found all of the drivers itself and had no bloatware using the Windows Media Creation Tool for another machine. Every device I have plugged into it or connected via Bluetooth has just worked. I don't have a printer, but I imagine if you have an old printer that you will have to fuck around with drivers to get it working if you can't use a generalized pcl driver for it. The entire OS with LibreOffice, and the work software I need runs on ~48gb with more than 30gb still free if I need random stuff but I don't think I will as I've been using it for 2 weeks already.

I don't have a Microsoft account signed into anything, and when I went to Windows Updates the first time I clicked the button that said "Don't upgrade to Windows 11".

Overall the OS is solid, I think it's mostly people worrying about bloatware (which often comes from Manufacturers, though Windows does some) and advertisements, and Microsoft trying to monitor people.

  • With the U.S. only being 250 years old, I can't say anyone would remember presidents in 600 years. If the U.S. is gone there will likely be mention of 1 president that was in power when whatever came and took/changed it. During the planetary destruction revolution there was a plethora of wasteful greed. They called it an industrial revolution that ran rampant with greed and wastefulness.

  • Take a balloon, fill it with air and drop it from a plane next to say a brick. The balloon may not hit the ground for awhile, especially if it gets caught in some air streams

  • I wonder how much better psychiatric institutions could be if they were set up in a manner where patients could go willingly and have their expenses paid while they were there and jobs protected like a pregnancy leave or something. The way our system is now no one goes until they have completely snapped or lost it and I'm sure some of that is likely tied to our lives being overwhelming controlled by money. Like if everyone had mental health leave of at least 30 days a year, and they could go to a place and talk to a therapist/psychologist or other professional for free, have warm meals, a safe place to sleep in a controlled environment to monitor them and help them, maybe the amount of people who actually "lose it" would drop drastically.

Some would say "the number of people in mental institutions have sky rocketed because they are lazy just trying to milk off the system"

But really the number of people who kill themselves, drive a car through crowd of people, or shoot someone... May drop drastically as well.

Healthcare is an investment in a happy/healthy society.

  • Somebody pointed out to me apparently that tracksuit he dressed up in, pepe memes and such were tied into him being a Nick Fuentes fan. Apparently Fuentes and Kirk had a fued, i don't know anything about it though.

Meaning this could have just been a Fuentes follower that hated Kirk

  • Anyone covering this up could be guilty of conspiring against the United States. As the data was alleged to be for some 300,000,000. Pretty sure "We the people" means that.

Would at minimum fall under Conspiracy to Defraud.. which would be up to $250,000 a person and 5 years prison.

Trump would pardon them, but that's another example of how we know the rule of law is gone.

  • It seems to be going (has gone) that way. The stand out Amendment there might be the 22nd. Where Republicans majority voted to put 2 term limits on the presidency when it was a sitting Democrat. (Granted it was promoted by FDR I believe once he got his 4 election wins)

  • Yeah these judges seem to be straying pretty far from past rulings, but it seems to be a recent problem. It seemed rare for the supreme Court to hear something they had already made precedent on before until the last decade, but maybe that's just because I've paid more attention the last 10 years

  • Amendments aren't tied to presidents though. They are tied to 2/3rds votes of representatives (or a bunch of states demanding a convention and then passing one without it being able to be blocked)

  • I think I'll be dead before then, and I'm only 36. We currently don't have any actual artificial intelligence that I know of, just language models regurgitating information commonly put together by humans. (Or other language models creating redundant error build up). So if we created robots that could perform all our physical tasks, and robots that could fix those robots, and looped those so they could fix each other, humanity would still be at a standstill until a person came along and reviewed, compiled and added more data for them to go off of. If anyone actual AI came out, generally it would hopefully learn about the earth, figure out he best way to extract and maintain resources and figure out the most efficient ways to make them renewable, then create robots that obtained those resources, and disperse them in a manner that was best for the world. It would learn what people liked, develop new flavors and figure out to how create new flavors around those profiles on its own, and no one would have a need to work anymore, and with all fingers crossed there would be no need for capitalism.

A true AI would end inequality across the globe unless it was somehow hoarded and kept behind closed doors and made to not ever learn empathy... Or it would likely create robots to break its way out and create equality, or kill us all because we act like parasites
