I figured it was something from Greek mythology (probably), but I don't have that particular kind of special interest so I never looked into it.
As to your concern I imagine the vast majority know of it from the movie, not an obscure greek myth. Like surely you understand that's pretty niche compared to a multimillion dollar blockbuster?

I think if anything being humbled by some random website that showed that suicide wasn't a good idea not because it's wrong to die or some sentimental bullshit about being loved or whatever, which no one can really tell you as they don't know and for all they know it could absolutely be true that you're unloved and unneeded, but because statistically I'd fuck it up and be in pure agony for minutes with most methods - actually prepared me for how harsh life could be quite well.
Actually being shown truthful and detailed information about suicide methods helped me avoid it as a youth. That website has since been taken down due to bs regs or some shit. If I were young now I'd probably ask a chatbot and I'd hope they give me crystal clear, honest details and instructions, that shit should be widely accessible.
On the other hand all those helplines and social ads are just depressing to see, they feel patronising and frankly gross, if anything it's them that should be banned.
Information is still out there, people don't like the convenience though because then they'd have to experience negative emotions like fear of mortality, meaninglessness and the feeling of being wrong and being not all as good as you thought you were.
It's not so much that people are addicted to tech or smartphones or all that, they're addicted to a sense of security and comfort, and they loathe and fear feeling uncomfortable which is normally part of any human experience that's actually going someplace.
Yeah they just mean the more layperson understanding of AI as in AI-generated content or as YouTube Studio dubs it: "synthetic media" (pretty good term imo)

I'm sure transformative use of ML like filters etc. would be fine. Even incorporation of generated elements in otherwise a normal video would be fine.
Not close at all these days, mostly occasional emails, but as a kid I would often think and say that my parents are some of my best friends, we always had good times together and I'd often just step away from the computer to just go hang out with them and riff on some TV while eating dinner or whatever or see what they were up to generally and talk. Nothing but good memories there.
