  • The alkalation unit in chemical plants and refineries is the place where the most human melting could occur in an emergency. Scary as hell. Basically you have to wear a moon suit if you even look at the border between that unit and the rest of the plant.

  • What's that?

  • I bought one of these from Flirc but never used it.

  • A totally valid option I had not considered. Imo, the solution needs to be controlled by a standard remote. I tried for a couple years to get my family to use a media pc that used a media keyboard and no one would touch it. I turned it into a server and streamed to emby and now they will use it but only after I showed them it works even when the internet is down.

  • No doubt. The market is shriveling up for people who want a new tv that isn't garbo. Outside of commercial displays which are like 3-4x as expensive and have lower image quality, I don't know of anyone making dumb tvs in a 55" plus size. Yes, you can opt not to hook them up to the internet but in a house with non-tech people, its a huge hassle to get them to want to use anything other than the built in apps. Even diy set top boxes running on a pi or shield are not as user friendly for kids or grandparents.

  • I basically left it vanilla after switching the launcher and borking the updates. We use emby for our home streaming but I am always looking for extra functionality

  • I will 100% jump over to it if that does turn into a thing

  • Oh cool, I'll have to checkout those other tools!

  • I have a HiSense TV and use ADB AppControl to disable/remove the telemetry or forced updates, and Projectivy Launcher to get a home screen/launcher that doesn't show ads. Both are free and work really well. I don't see trash on my homescreen anymore.

  • I have 1, 10 ounce cup of black coffee around 7:30am every day. More than that I get jittery and have trouble sleeping. The last time I had an energy drink was probably 2019 and I could only have a couple sips of it before I felt like I was going to take off into the air.

  • Yeah pubg doesn't even work on steamdeck/bazzite.

  • I'm sure Congress will get right on blocking that war just like they did in the last two times. They really put him in his place and I am sure he learned his place after that roasting.

  • Lovely... I got invited to attend a show he was at not knowing anything about who he was or what it was about and within about 3 minutes learned that he's a bigol'e piece of shit and everyone in that crowd would probably have beat my ass if that had known my real views. I made a hasty exit and had to take a shower. Real gross.

  • It's lovely that the Texas primary happened just before this. He'll face no consequences for this now because voters have the attention span of a meth addled elderly Chihuahua that has just seen a squirrel.

  • Broader primaries where 2 candidates get through for each party, then ranked choice voting in the main election would go a long way to that but at this point. I think the rot/stupidity/corruption/malevolence may be terminal at this point without some major wake up or change.

  • Yeah, we knew that already, the economics of using a $5,000,000 missile to shoot down a $40,000 drone is idiotic. None of that is a shock, that math is being demonstrated in Ukraine already. If you knew that why would you start a war where you had no other alternatives?

And to you dumbasses in Congress/the Senate, YOU HAD A CHANCE TO VOTE AGAINST THIS VIA THE WAR POWERS RESOLUTION BUT YOU CHOSE NOT TO! Now we are stuck fighting a war that does not benefit us, was unnecessary, and will cost us in lives, money, and security because no one wants to associate with sociopaths... That doesn't even include the horrors we are inflicting on the innocent civilians over there.

The lessons that were not learned in GW1, GW2, Iraq, Afghanistan, are still fucking us.

  • I mean, these jackasses are probably funding a sizeable chunk of the city with that many tickets...

  • Woah, a finger wag, that's excessive, the senate will vote down even a strongly worded letter.

He's faced no consequences for any action in his entire miserable life, why should he now? Consequences are only for poor people apparently.
