I'm just a random weeb. I love anime, dubstep, science, philosophy, logic and tech all along.

PS: English isn't my native language, so sorry if I mispell some things, please kindly point it to me.

  • Look at code security too.

  • Not all, but the 99.999999…999% are, and the 0.000000…001% that doesn't will be like that sooner than later.

  • That's a good ad hominem you have there. Now please make a fucking actual argument. If you can't, then shut the holy fuck out.

  • Well, good luck making sure your page doesn't have huge security holes, that it performs well (and by good performance, I mean that it can run reasonably well even on a 2010 or even 2005 computer), that it handles memory properly, and that it's not just a skeleton that works by selling your soul and destroying your device. You'll need infinite luck for that, I assure you.

  • At least the first one is actually true...

I mean, both parties (and any party in any place of the world) is the same: a bunch of mythomaniacs, sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists, kleptomaniacs, pedophiles and murderers who don't care about the citizens, the people, but only their own pockets and their shitty hedonisms.

  • Literally Zulip, Rocket.Chat, Mattermost and Matrix are cheaper than Teams lmao.

And are totally free if you self-host.

  • Just don't use Teams. There's Zulip, Mattermost, Rocket.Chat, even Matrix and XMPP.

  • ? .

  • It can be, actually.

The protocol itself obviously no, but you have clients really similar to Discord, such as Cinny, Fluffy Chat, Extera, Extera Next, Nheko, Commet, Tacit, Sable, etc.

  • Oh well, I take back what I said, sorry for the misinformation. At least last time I checked there was no source code.

And about what I said about the FSL license, I'm really traumatized by projects that supposedly open source their code, but with that license.

  • Yeah, and that's the cool part on Matrix. It's not really P2P yet, but it's federated (including the storage), and they have a project looking to make it P2P.

  • Actually not. They do impose really stupid upload limits.

  • Actually there are plenty of mobile clients with that feature lol.

I do use Extera Next and it does have them.

  • Yeah.

    Also Fluxer is closed-source AFAIK.

And they say they will open it, but that just feels like empty words, and even if they did, I know they will use a shitty license as the FSL.

  • I don't know, and it just feels wrong to say myself that I am (feels like this meme).

  • Yes. Next question. :3

  • I only use Brave Search, or a good SearXNG instance.

  • Is a hard-fork that happened after the Audacity's corporate, astroturf, and anti-user shift.

This is a direct quote of their Codeberg repo:

    Motivation

Our project initially started as a fork of Audacity as a result of multiple controversies and public relation crises, which you can find out more about here:

Nevertheless, the goal of this project is to pick up the decades-long work by the original developers of Audacity and create an audio editor that is fresh, more modern, convenient and practical to use, with the help and the guidance of our users and our community.

    Differences from Audacity

Tenacity is not merely an Audacity fork that removes error reporting and update checking, although it might seem like it. We have been hard at work implementing our own features and fixes and want to take Tenacity in a direction our users and community like. So far, we have fulfilled part of this endless goal by implementing the following:

    • New, modern themes.
    • Improved support for more platforms such as Haiku.
    • Matroska importing and exporting without needing FFmpeg.
    • Support for importing, editing, exporting Matroska chapters as label tracks.
    • Sync-lock improvements, including the ability to temporarily override sync-lock.
    • Horizontal scrolling in the Frequency Analysis window.
    • Under-the-hood changes, such as a revamped build system allowing for modern upstream dependencies.

More changes are yet to come, big or small. We are always welcoming contributions to Tenacity, no matter how big or small, feature or fix. For more info, see the Contributing section.
