  • A big part of the reason AI isn't useful here is that I already have all the base-level knowledge that it can give me. I understand I need to increase my calorie intake, and I could do so by eating more frequently or larger meals. In fact, I addressed most of this advice in the post already.

AI isn't super great at delving into the nitty-gritty specific examples of "this is a high calorie food that fits into your specific diet"

  • Should do potatoes more often. I really like peanut butter but haven't kept it around in a while, I could definitely do with some more PB&Js. I do peanut sauces on my noodles quite often as well

  • Nuts and seeds? Avocados? Olive oil? Cheese?

Good calls. I do avocados a lot and have been ramping up my oil use lately. I used to do a lot of nuts but have stopped recently due to bits getting stuck in my tonsils (I really gotta get them fuckers removed. Big af and cavernous for no reason)

    Do you eat desert?

I don't do a lot of super sugary things like cakes or candy. I used to have really poor dental hygiene which made those foods physically painful to eat and even now I don't choose them often. Fruits with creams are a great idea though, and yesterday I actually had to slam some chocolate because I could feel my blood sugar getting low lol

  • You may not have to do anything at all

I'm not gonna sit around and wait for my metabolism to slow down. I'd rather put in the work to fix and maintain my weight and then readjust as it slows down

  • I've tried a few times. It kinda fuckin sucks to transition back to meat

  • While OneNote for Windows 10 still has roughly half a year, Microsoft will start nagging users with update prompts much earlier. For starters, in June 2025, Microsoft will slow down the app's sync performance, thus forcing customers to ditch the old app, especially those using OneNote on multiple devices or for real-time collaboration.

Next, in July 2025, banners will make their way to OneNote for Windows 10 to make sure users are aware of the upcoming end of support. Microsoft says these banners "could impact users workflows." You do not say, Microsoft.

Wait. You're gonna throttle them and then wait a month to tell them why you're throttling them? What?

  • Looks like it has the ability to poll your accounts periodically to check for notifications. I presume this would then send a push notification, and the most frequent interval is 15 minutes

  • Go ahead and throw your pixelfed username out here once you've made it. I assume you do furry art at least a bit based off your profile which isn't a super uncommon niche here, probably a few lurkers who'd love to follow

  • QA is a great early step in that career path, seconding this

  • The first thing I think of is "propaganda" but you might not expect why. I grew up in the western world, hearing constantly that China was basically the epitome of evil. Their government is evil, their people are evil, the very land they walk on is evil, everything they've ever done has been evil. In history we only learned about their crises and the times they caused problems for the western world.

Unlike my peers, however, this made me curious. Why are you telling me so constantly that they must be evil? Can't there be good people there doing their best just like we are? And then things started getting weird in the western world. Then they got worrying. Then they started really taking their masks off and I realized "ohhhh you were projecting the whole time weren't you?"

I still don't know much about China. I don't know what your culture is really like, how the people actually treat each other. I don't know basically anything about you. I'd love to learn though, if you're willing to teach.

  • Or even a quick link to the relevant portion of the docs at least would be cool

  • Eventually, I want "Just Another" to be my brand name for my nonprofits. Kay is one of my nicknames

  • I love when someone brings up Rittenhouse because I dated someone who went to high school with him, so I know quite a bit about him.

Turns out all of the signs were there and his mom encouraged that type of stuff :)

  • Now this is a hill I can die on

  • It can if you use an LLM as the interface with guidelines instead of rules

  • You don't have to trust the education system. Pay attention to the words that media outlets use to scare people. Use those words against the enemies, because that's what scares them

  • China helping it's people in a social way destroyed the soul-crushing capitalist system of the western world

Doesn't sound too bad when you put it that way. China could go about it better, with worker rights and whatnot, but the government pumping money into the hands of the everyman is not something I can be against

  • I can't say for sure how much indoctrination has happened, but I remember hearing "isolationism" as a sort of bogeyman in history classes. So there's at least that for some people

  • Right but it's the specific use of the phrase "manipulating prices."

Manipulating has a negative connotation, it's a buzzword used often in capitalist propaganda. They're not manipulating prices, they're subsidizing the industry so that their people can reap the benefits of their taxes in a tangible way. The same way Americans subsidize farmers, and their EV industry. We just don't subsidize it as much.
