  • I've got "mark read on scroll" enabled as well as "hide read posts".

Same. Those features have never worked for me either. Equally effective as pushing the crosswalk button at a traffic intersection, or pushing the "close door" button inside an elevator. Useless. Best I can do on Lemmy is click the "refresh button" sometimes or come back a few days later to get a fresh feed.

  • Oh no, it's no longer available. Did mods remove it, or is it only unavailable to me?

Update: thank you I see it now! Epic. Finally Melania kinda looks like she has a meaningful vocation for once.

  • All humans should be deported from planet earth as illegal invasive species, and restore this glorious planet to unicellular organisms.

  • I do recall blocking the thorn guy from my previous account. So that's a downside to establishing a new Lemmy account. All the users I'd blocked are now roaming freely in my feed again.

  • But if that complaint is based on a recent order, probably need to show them the receipt, and nowadays there are cameras everywhere for them to review the footage showing that you did receive everything you ordered.

  • If your centaur can giddy-up fast enough, you're technically qualified for the HOV lane.

  • "Where do you go to school at?" Poor grammar too. Unacceptable behavior for any school administration. Out with him.

  • Every time I heard the band name "Daft Punk," it meant nothing to me. Toward the end of their existence I finally put the name with the music and hot damn that's good stuff.

  • Or a sign that says "No mice allowed." So the mouse will be legally obligated to pack a bindle & move along.

  • OMG you made me audibly giggle

  • Cartoonist had to be OSHA compliant.

  • As an American with no social skills whatsoever, I get confused & annoyed when people offer me a beverage when I arrive at their house. Like why do they think I'm suddenly thirsty?

  • information about an individual is only released 100 years after their birth or 10 years after their death. This data is not available online and it must be requested in writing.

I scoured through the article and not sure if they sourced any address we can request this in writing.

  • I like the businesses that ask you for your email address and they send you a code and then you put that code into their box and they do a new one every time like that, so there's never a password required.

  • I'm 50% German, my grandpa's parents left Germany and settled in Western USA during the Hitler debacle. I don't know any more than that, but I'd like to think they left Germany because they were opposed to the tyranny they saw unfolding.

  • We all get excited when we see our dream home until the increasing mortgages & property taxes hit us

  • Wow, I'm blocking you. Hey everybody block this guy so everything he does will never be seen.

  • I don't think he called me very often. I lived with him. I saw him every day & slept with him every night.

  • When I first started this job they did not tell me this food was deducted from our paycheck whether or not we even step foot into the cafeteria, so when I looked at my pay stub a few months into my employment, was a little surprised but then realized based on what I've learned about human nature over the years, when people receive something for free they tend to appreciate it less, and abuse/misuse even disrespect such privileges, so I think it's appropriate that we pay for this food. It only breaks down to $5.50 a day* for all you can eat buffet so it's a pretty damn good deal as long as we use it because again, pretty sure they deduct the cafeteria fee from our paychecks whether or not we ever step foot in there.

    • I did the math, I've only worked 28 days this year so far and they've deducted total $155.13 from my pay for the cafeteria this year so it breaks down to about $5.50 a day.
