  • Relatedly, as an admin of c/books, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a book here.

If you enjoyed the TV show The Good Place, and humorous books about moral philosophy, Mike Schur (the showrunner) covers this in How to be Perfect.

  • A spokesperson said that the only reason they didn’t open source Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.11 for Workgroups at the same time was that it was still in use for some highly critical systems.

    /s //Probably

  • Net thing you’re going to tell me is that those left-wing rags the NY Times & Washington Post were actually Sane Washing Trump too.

  • I’m sure a more integrated and stylistically integrated version is quite a bit more desirable to some so the extra cost covers that.

  • I’m excited for you. I want to hear how it goes.

  • I don’t know how relevant it will be, but this was from Bondtech when they announced the founders kit.

  • There was discussion about this on “the other site*” when the founder’s kits were released. The basic answer ended up being something like “since the nozzles heads are dumb, you’re still getting the same amount of smart (more expensive) components so there isn’t a lot of cost to save”.

*- I still lurk a few communities, but don’t interact. Fuck Spez.

  • They address that in the FAQ at the bottom. It’s coming, the smaller one was just ready 1st (or they tried to split the traffic spike to the site too possibly).

  • Same, am I still going to buy one after others have been the guinea pigs to work out bugs? Yes, but that’s still a chunk of change.

I think I saw that the add-on nozzles end up being on the cheaper end though. Not sure what my plans are for those yet.

  • That’s my thought too. The Vision Pro is more Newton than anything it’s compared to today. I’m sure that there will be echoes of it in some piece of tech in the next 10-15 years, but it’s not the right device for the right time right now for most people.

  • Technology @lemmy.world

Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple's chief executive officer, and hardware engineering chief John Ternus is set to take over September1st, Apple announced today.

  • UM, ACTUALLY, if we could get some VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE in the PARLOR ROOM to MAKE SOME NOISE, This would be a GAME CHANGER. (Yes, I know that’s his son Sam, but ¯(ツ)/¯)

  • While this isn’t great, it’s only applicable to talk therapy which I don’t think you can have a significant impact on without running into free speech issues which was the ruling. Any “physical” domain-type therapy is not impacted by this ruling which the headline doesn’t make clear*.

*- probably on purpose because Fuck the NYT.

  • Mid-late ‘70s, ‘76 if I have to pick one year.

  • Sounds like someone is trying to buy themselves into the popular crowd.

  • We get 2 first names for the price of one!

  • Those are pretty solid and bold colors.

  • Oh believe me I’m trying. I will usually cross-post things I’m selling, but I don’t get anywhere near the interest I’m my 104,000 person statistical area.

  • I am so upset that FB killed Craigslist, that is basically the only reason I use it regularly anymore. My feed has basically been taken over by right wing influencer bots otherwise.
