  • That's an interesting point of view. I'm demi, so I only develop feelings once I know someone well. I feel like by then I already know if we're compatible. But I guess that's not the case for most people.

  • First off, I would think that in order for them to get that far they'd have to evolve longer, grasping fingers like ours, or maybe they would have designed objects to work with their paws, but without the fine motor control afforded by fingers I'm not sure how they would invent anything.

    There would be a lot more meat production and no crop farms, since they are obligate carnivores, but this does assume they don't evolve beyond that on their way to domination.

    I suppose humans wouldn't have evolved past being apes, it's unlikely they would want us as pets, so we're probably either hinted for sport or as an exotic food source, or largely ignored.

    It's possible that animals would be going extinct at an alarming rate, since cats hunt for food and fun, and as a society they would require more meat.

    It's hard to know it cats would make the same mistakes we've made, but I would think it's safe to assume they've lost touch with their kinship with nature or largely ignore it, like humans do now, so perhaps a lot will be the same. I don't know if they'd give in to greed like humans have, or create a system that's more beneficial overall. If the former, work would be hell for them, it would probably be a 3-4 day work week, but that would be rough for them just like our current system is for us.

    The biggest changes would be anatomical, I think. Their fur would thin out, except on the top of their heads, their tails might grow shorter or disappear to allow them to stand and walk upright, the breasts in females would grow larger and the number of their offspring might reduce to one or two as their gestation and childhood periods get longer to account for higher intelligence.

  • I mostly play Steam games these days, but also Minecraft. Programs, I guess would be Discord, Waterfox, and Tidal. Mostly I just want to be sure that I could do anything with my computer that I wanted to.

  • It would probably take having someone sit down and help me switch and teach me the basics, and the guarantee that I wouldn't lose access to any of my games or important programs. Also less bloatware would be beneficial, idk if that's true of Linux, I don't know much about it.

  • Forearm would probably look good, or shoulder! My tattoo is on my shoulder but I plan to get more. I guess it just depends if you want/have more. Or if you want to be able to hide it. Shoulder is easy to hide. I regret that mine is so well hidden.

  • Bloodborne was definitely my favourite of the Souls games.

    Oh, I do remember those guys! That would be an awesome tattoo, you should go for it! Where were you thinking of putting it? A decent tattoo artist should be able to work with you to figure out a cool design with it.

  • Actually did talk to a stranger about this somewhat recently! He had a Bloodborne tattoo on his arm, which prompted me to initiate a conversation. Highly recommend.

  • I got my licence 2 years ago at 35! I initially tried at 16 but my mother was just horrible to drive with and scared me off learning for a long time. When I actually got it I did lessons with an instructor for a long time and that was much better for building my confidence.

  • I went to university (Australia). I struggled a lot but finally made it through with a Computer Science degree, just in time for AI to fuck everything up. Now I'm a year and a half post-degree and still unable to get a job.

    As for why, I went because it was the "right" thing to do. My younger sister got a degree and a "real" job and was doing well. She's the golden child, and I guess I wanted that praise and love from my parents too. So I went to uni to get a degree too. But I'm still failing. Still worthless in their eyes.
