  • Doubt it was SIDS, it's right there in the name: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Apparently, it pretty much only affects infants under a year old, with 90% of cases occurring before 6 months. It would be almost unheard of if it affected both of her 18-month-old toddlers at the exact same time. Very sad, I'm glad they're investigating this...

    But he's nearing the end of his natural life and he clearly failed to find joy. He failed to be loyal to his country. He failed to show empathy, and experience the happiness that goes along with it. He failed to be human and it's too late now, he's almost gone...

  • That's the worst part!? Not having to mourn friends and family while being stuck in this ever-worsening world? Or hoping you have enough retirement saved up and invested in the right, safe things since you become less and less capable every day (to say nothing of being less employable). You have to watch as your body gradually fails and your agency is taken away; you also gradually lose more and more of your senses and personality and less and less people who know and care about you are around, you lose your memories and eventually your own sanity and are left trapped in your own mind, not knowing who you are or what's happening...

    But yeah, I do have that one cringe moment as a teenager.

  • Maybe. Unfortunately, too many genuinely use the same language to refer to wealth-hoarders. Also, when the very first sentence in an article written by the Senior Editor of a publication contains a typo, I tend not to give them the benefit of the doubt.

    It's telling that one of these billionaires was the type to kill a worker trying to do their job near his property. And "stand your ground" laws were created by and for gun nuts who want to murder someone. Change my mind...
