  • It is sexist that women have been forced into (or staying in) logistics. It is sexist that leak hegseth is purging women in the military. It is not sexist to realize the direct consequence of the combination of these two actions. I do think the experience matters a ton, not that they are women in particular. It is important to analyze both of these in the context of sexist decisions because it can be a driving force of the failure on the logistics side.

  • That's usually the case, as electric vehicles don't pay taxes on gas which is used for roads. Basically a system to make people who drive pay for the roads (and people who drive more will pay more as well).

  • Sure, I guess in a general sense. If it was more direct I'm not sure how that would toll on me, if I would be unable to sleep because I'm worried someone is going to break in my home and hurt me or my loved ones. And it's not like there public servants have much of a choice, either they follow along with the corruption, get fired, or resign. There isn't an outcome where they stay and make a change for the better within the system.

  • The fact that several species in Australia are now extinct kinda shows cats do harm bird populations. Cats are usually an invasive species and hundreds of them in an area can decimate local wildlife. Overcrowding only kill birds when there are too many, while cats will always kill birds. There are definitely places where it matters more, like on small islands, but in general any invasive species can massively shift ecosystems.

  • As someone who also started proxmox fairly recently, I found that the community has these really cool scripts that you can use to get started. Obviously you're running bash scripts on your main node for some, so there are risks involved with that but in my experience it's been great.

  • You're not required to have a jury (as you mentioned), and the current lawyer meta for "complicated" cases (such as cryptocurrency cases that are seen as too technical or boring) is to request a bench trial.

    A relatively recent example is Trump's civil fraud case, where the prosecutor requested a bench trial. It was rumored that the defence attorney forgot a checkbox to make it a jury trial, but in reality they just chose not to file a motion.
