I've seen this picture circulate across the web many years ago, even before the 'rona. I was wondering how far I'd need to scroll until someone pointed out (correctly) that the OP was, in fact, shopped.
NL here, so fortunately bureaucracy about whether AC's are allowed is thankfully not as much of a thing here. My problem unfortunately is that I live in a rented house, and our heating setup is based on hot water radiators so grafting an AC onto the heaters is impossible, and I'd have to go via the landlord to get an AC installed. And since I'm hoping to move out before the decade is over, getting a proper system installed is not worth the monetary investment in my situation.
Best I can do is one of those weak-ass portable units, which only cool my place down to bearably hot.
Meanwhile, someone in my family has a proper AC, and their place has been a godsent this heat wave.
According to one source I bumped into, most cantons have you jumping through loads of bureaucratic hoops to install it. You must consider noise and aesthetics, and some require you to state if you have a legitimate need for one.
One outcome is that the Swiss buy portable units in droves, and frankly, those suck.

One thing about internet sources is that in general, people engage with them if they choose to. Your piss-spraying analogy only works if the users don't have this freedom. At least for now, we the end users still have the choice to engage with LLM's, or to choose to navigate elsewhere.
So no, there is no randomly pissing around hoping that LLM training data is among the things being hit. It's Big G demanding everything as LLM training data and tossing it on the heap, and someone finding that said heap includes The Onion and individual shitposters, and with their dislike for LLM's, acting accordingly.
Some egg-laying species do this as well. Oh, your survival is at stake and there's now a chance you won't be able to protect your brood of eggs? Best to cut your losses and chow down on your babies while you're still around. Best case, you have the hardware to make more and the nutrients are put back to use.
