  • I always thought so ... one of the most unique and memorable villains I've ever seen in any movie.

    I know it's hard to have children play adult themed characters or personalities in movies ... but it is a completely disturbing thing to have a child go after everyone as a villain or play an adult role ... nothing more disturbing than a child with the psychotic mind of an adult.

    The only other character like this that had the same impact for me was Kirsten Dunst playing a 100 year old vampire in the body of a little girl in 'Interview with the Vampire'

  • That's the thing ... I'm up in northern Ontario in Canada where we can get -40 degree weather in February. The winter is probably the only time I'll prefer big cups of hot coffee .... only because I want to drink lots of hot liquid to keep me warm .... but even then I regulate how much I drink because it is really a big pain to drink lots of drip coffee, get outside in cold temperatures bundled up in pants, jeans, long underwear, jackets, shirts, belts and then have the urge to pee!!!!

  • I have my sympathies for the American people .... as individuals you guys are great .... but as a country, it's a dumpster fire that no one wants to put out.

  • I used to drink gallons of coffee years ago .... I went to Europe on several trips (I'm not a rich man, I'm a budget traveller) ... and I realized that espressos are a far better way to deliver your caffeine hit without all the inconvenience.

    I work in a bit of construction and renovation and it was normal to drink about two liters of coffee while I worked ... trouble was, in half an hour, had to go for a pee, then regularly pee every hour after

    Now when I drink espresso, I drink one or two, never have to go to pee for hours. I do manage my water intake and drink water if I sweat too much or just get thirsty .... otherwise, caffeine is delivered by espresso ... really convenient especially when roofing, or working in a high place and you don't want to waste time running down at the worst possible moment.

    Now that I'm older and middle aged, all those gallons of coffee really don't help me because they'll make me pee every 20 minutes!!! so espressos are far better in my opinion.

  • How can children be introduced to digital technology and the internet in a playful way? At what age is this appropriate? And how can this be done without exposing children to all the negative aspects?

  • Neat ... all my family is not anywhere near me so I don't spend much time with them during the year. I used to years ago and we were often overwhelmed with children everywhere but not any more.

    You should go ahead with that weather station or irrigation station ..... just figure out how to use mechanical / tactile systems you build, use, measure and document by hand on paper.

    I used to play games with my nieces and nephews with puzzle hiding games - I'd give them a clue to find an object, which had another clue, then kept them guessing and finding the next clue five or six times until they found a small prize. A fun little game you can design inside a room, or inside a house, or in a field or yard.

    I haven't done that game in years but last year I had a nephew who is 20 now remind me how much he enjoyed it years ago. It's something they remember far more than a playlist of funny Youtube videos.

    Have fun while you can with them .... times goes by really, really fast and by the time you realize it all, they're all grown and can no longer spend much time with you.
