Indigenous Canadian from northern Ontario. Believe in equality, Indigenous rights, minority rights, LGBTQ+, women's rights and do not support war of any kind.

  • The biggest surprise for me is in how America just stands by and says nothing about it

    If Biden had been up there saying that about a political opponent .... it would make headlines all over the world.

    Trump does it and his behaviour is so normalized that everyone just shrugs their shoulders and moves on.

    These idiots in positions of power saying and doing whatever they want aren't the problem .... it's everyone else who just accept it all.

    It's like a religion at this point in history.

    If you have enough people who blindly believe in the whole thing, no matter how absurd, everything continues to grow and expand. Once enough people lose faith, then the whole system comes crashing down.

  • I do watch and listen to a lot of Chomsky .... but the guy has so much content, you'd have to relive his entire life to hear everything he said and read everything he ever wrote. The man is amazing. I just wish he were a lot younger than he is.

  • I do the same because I love garlic too .... unfortunately, this past winter, I discovered there is an upper limit to this 'one neat trick' ..... an entire head of raw garlic on a piece of toast is enough to wish you could physically remove your colon from own body for a few hours.

    We still have huge organizations with billions of members in the world that believe their saviour is going to come back soon, destroy the world, dragons, demonic horsemen, fire, brimstone, people magically disappearing and rising up to heaven and everyone else getting thrown into a lake of fire.

  • I've been saying it for the past two US election cycles .... the US is a one party state with two different organizations representing just one political party.

    The Chinese have the Chinese Communist Party

    Russia has a ruling class of Oligarchs

    The US has the Republican/Democrat Party

    All three operate in the same way

  • I love that scene too. When Kirk first mentioned if it was New York, I just blindly assumed that the writers and producers were just going to go in that direction. I was partly sad that Toronto was going to masked over as another American city but at the same time nostalgically looking forward to seeing the city any way.

    It was both a sigh of relief and a big smile when La'an looked at Kirk like he was an idiot and told him it was Toronto.

    It doesn't matter what they offer. It doesn't matter what they build. It doesn't matter if it's real or not. It doesn't matter if it is beneficial or not. It doesn't matter if it is ethical or not. It doesn't matter if it is moral or not. It doesn't matter if it is respectful or not.

    All that matters is that it made money.

    That is the sign of a true Capitalist.
