  • Am I high? or are you? .... or are we?

  • His were a lot softer

  • Oh ... you mean Optimus Prime and not that masculine Klingon

  • ... like I said, we don't know how they will treat things like that in the 24th century ... maybe they'll just politely ask him to leave the ship ... by opening an air lock and let him go on his way.

  • Hot dogs? ... those are left over barbecued beef sausages from our local farmer. Good ones too, you should have seen the all dressed sausage on a bun with sauerkraut, pickles, sauce, onions and cheese.

I'm poor, gross and rough around the edges but not that poor, gross or rough around the edges.

  • That about sums up biblical God from the old testament

  • I thought I had some photos of my nacho plates but couldn't find any ... the largest one I made recently was for my nephew who is currently into body building and 'bulking' ... I found the largest plate I could find and layered the nachos and cheese four times! and made a small mountain of nachos for him. I think I used an entire large bag of nachos just for him.

The plates for me and my wife are usually not that big, even after I layer them twice ... I just like have all my cheese melted inside every chip and everywhere. And no I don't eat like this on a regular basis ... if I did, I'd be dead by now or dying from diabetes. I think we cut it down to maybe having a plate like this once a month or once very two months, usually on a movie night.

I used to work in a small fast food joint my family ran and this where I learned to make my layered nachos.

This one is a smaller plate, made with sausage pieces and chili

  • I frustrate my wife with this logic all the time.

I'm make a plate of nachos (I'm a pro at this point and plate it all with a bit of onion, three types of peppers, a bit of thick chili, jalapeno peppers and cheese ... then layer it all ... make a small layer, bake it, then make a second and sometimes third layer!) and serve it all with sour cream, salsa and guacamole.

She'll eat hers like a rabid animal and by the end of it will be frustrated because she either has left over nachos with no dips or way too much dips left and no nachos. She gets frustrated and either wants to ask me for a nacho or two to finish her dips or just gives up and tells me to throw the rest away.

Meanwhile, I've perfectly portioned all my food so that my last bite is a single nacho loaded with the last bit of chili, salsa, sour cream and guacamole ..... sometimes I even factor in that she will have extra dips at the end and I'll finish hers too.

No better feeling than that last nacho chip with everything on it and knowing you have a clean plate with nothing on it.

  • FUCK-A-THIS

  • Although I agree .... that is making assumptions of a situation based on our modern understanding and level of culture

In the 24th Century ... culture, ideas, therapy and psychology will be a lot different than what we understand today.

In the Star Trek TNG future, it looks and sounds accepting and understanding of all sorts of things .... but in the real world 24th Century that is yet to happen, it may or may not be as positive or negative as we would like to think. It will definitely be a lot different than to how we think now but to what extent - we don't know.

Think about it this way. How did people think about sexuality and sexual fantasies of others 100 years ago? 200 years ago? People and mobs would have probably gathered around and wanted to either severely punish the person or put them to death. We look down at that social mentality now as backward and uneducated .... in 300 years our descendants may think of us today in the same way.

What we think is normal today in our world won't be normal in 200, 300, 500 years in the future ... but that isn't to say that things will be better or worse ... they will just be way different that the way we see things today.

Who knows, in 300 years they might not think of things like Barclay's fantasies as anything serious and people might just look at it all in an open way and help him overcome those unrealistic fantasies .... or they might create a society where they deem individuals like this as unfit for whole and want to 'decommission' this individual from the collective.

  • Governments are dumb .... but they aren't that dumb

I'm sure some of that data was deliberately allowed to be deleted permanently for political reasons

I live in a part of Canada known for its historic mining and forestry culture. We had lots of historic buildings here that were all lost to unfortunate fires. If you go back on the history books, many of those fires were deliberately set for all kinds of reasons .... but many of them were just plain insurance / business scams for bankrupt mining companies wanting to get their money back ... or to hide evidence of financial wrongdoing.

Data is powerful and like our modern gold .... it can either be used to build a business ... take down another business ... or in the wrong hands, used as evidence or blackmail against us

  • Planned Obsolescence .... designing things for a short lifespan so that things always break and people are always forced to buy the next thing.

It all originated with light bulbs 100 years ago ... inventors did design incandescent light bulbs that could last for years but then the company owners realized it wasn't economically feasible to produce a light bulb that could last ten years because too few people would buy light bulbs. So they conspired to engineer a light bulb with a limited life that would last long enough to please people but short enough to keep them buying light bulbs often enough.

  • lol .... when I die, I would really love to have my body buried in a lead sealed container at the bottom of a shallow ocean ... bury me enough to not let things eat me but enough to preserve my bones for a few million years ... then place a bunch of random objects around me ... like an iron bar shaped in a simple random design (like the infinity symbol) ... a small solid gold sphere in my eye socket .. a small diamond up my nostril... and something radioactive inside my chest ... and fill my skull with copper, aluminum and other metals.

Then just leave it all and let some archaeologist in a few milllion years to be absolutely confused as to who or what the hell I was doing and why I did it

  • Who's to say that this photo was taken on the thumb of a really large giant human?

We need a banana for scale

  • But to Americans, as long as they can afford a cheeseburger, they don't care what's going on with the guberment

  • That's the danger to it all .... they make it up as they go along to align with whatever narrative that suits them and benefits them the most and 'punishes' or attacks any perceived enemies of their choosing. The world according to them works to benefit only them in the end.

  • Please Bro ..... let's just go for a few hours ... maybe a few days ... the farmer is thinking of selling ... we could buy the farm and do this all the time ... please bro ... just this one time

  • They do have principles ... religious principles .... fundamental Christian principles

One of the core beliefs of this new fundamental Christianity is in the idea of "God's Plan"

The idea that any Christian person can do unChristain things and even act immorally and if God doesn't stop them, doesn't punish them or show any sign that God disagrees, then it means that God allows it because it's part of his plan.

It's a really fucked up, cult like, dangerous mentality that they've cornered themselves into.

  • Why are we still taking these right wing fascist morons seriously?
