    NATO is a curse. Its an imperialist capitalist organization, not a defense org and should be dissolved.

    You are spreading nonsensical info without any context.

    That Operation was a contigency plan against a possible USSR incursion in Western Europe, like what did happen in Eastern-Europe . Also ask those former Sovjet States how horrible the Sovjet regime was. They deported millions.

  • Exactly, the Inquisition is another example. And, if we translate "pre Christian" into an era say around 1000 CE, then the same can be said of the Ottoman Empire, or any other empire in history. Traditionally, smaller communities tended to have an oral tradition, so nobody can know what's lost.

  • Good point regarding the differences in content or user driven apps. Hadn't thought of that.

    It would be good to have comparable info on trends numbers and such.

    Edit : quick search for reddit analysis I can't verify the legitimacy of this page.

    But it states that in 2025 they had 116 million unique daily visitors, compared to 1360 million monthly users. That's i like a 1 to 12 ratio for daily & monthly users. This is just one contextual example(#E).

    Do you have any comparable data, from other other apps? stuff like engagement %, daily, monthly users and such?

    Also also we we could aim for both more quality and quantity. Why not? Trashy people can always join Trashy instance, or whoever and whenever. That's imo what's Lemmy is all about. A hook in every nook?

    No real filter option as such, like Tesseract, but it helps for the " filtering".

  • I'm not on that community but in World, Europe and Politics community I've seen this issue too. Don't recognize that alias with the numbers though. But a new user posts a whole lot for 3 hours and then deletes it's own account. And then gets a new account. Repeat.

    I don't really understand this recurring theme in this context, Can someone explain to me why this is relevant?

    Afaik, this isn't a discussion in my country, since most people (should) know that already. This article triggered me, beacuse I want to lower my personal energy usage. Many companies in Europe who were energy wasteful and high energy users (like some chemical, steel, or aluminium plants) needed to close after the Russian invasion in 2022 and the then extreem high energy prices. Those that survived, are still struggling to this day.

    No idea tbh. I tried to figure it out myself first, then I had two electricians independently checking it.

    And their conclusion was that they didn't know, and that the 5% was sort of normal. I even had my electricity meter recalibrated by the grid company. I was afraid somone was taping, but no.. It still could've been the electricity meter ( which was like only 10 yo, I looked up its specs and readings). Humidity, Magnetism and Radio signals might effect the readings, under circumstances. So to be" safe", I have now a newer smart electricicity meter.

  • I had my old house tested ( after I mostly had it all rewired), by various electricians for energy losses. And they claimed that there was always some unaccountable energy loss ( 5% iirc).
