  • Put a big wind-up key on the back for when it runs out.

  • Checked the whole thread to see if the Eurovision train song was mentioned already. Chisinau - Bucharest!

  • As if any of your victims will ever see the reveal. None of the other grifters will want to expose you and your reveal won't be boosted by the fascist algorithms, so for your victims it will be just like you dropped off the face of the earth, if they remember you at all between the dozen new scammers they see every day.

  • Well, despite what many Germans might think, chiropraxy is quackery. But stretching isn't.

  • I think this is a difficult dilemma. My immediate instinct is that blocking illegal material is obviously an invasion of privacy. It is impossible to block one type of message without first reading all messages and classifying them.

But on the other hand, we're talking about other people's servers here. They shouldn't have to host illegal material. In fact, it is illegal for them to do so. So it is their right to know what they're hosting and clean it out.

Should we really have any expectation of privacy on big tech platforms? If you're sending obviously illegal material in plain bytes to a Microsoft server, what do you think is going to happen?

  • Should we put Xavier Renegade Angel on this list? I don't think it really qualifies as dark humor, more absurdist humor, but he eats all those babies that one episode...

  • To get a similar experience in the exact opposite way: travel in a big group. In a group of 30 there's usually someone who wants to join, and even if not, you don't have to feel bad about breaking off and doing your own thing for a bit, because no one expects you to do everything together.

You still have the basic structure of the trip to get everyone together for a travel day and discuss your adventures during a long bus ride, so I think it's really the best of both worlds.

  • Eventually all that dry air will end up above the ocean and absorb more water to balance the system. I don't think it's really an issue, we weren't getting rain clouds from the Sahara anyway.

  • The Microsoft page is somewhere in that bluesky thread, but the image has been removed already. Here's an article that has a copy of the image: PC Gamer

I'd say that it isn't the original ran through the machine, but an "original" work that just so happens to take 90% from this one source image. Probably because graphs aren't like dogs where they're all subtly different and you can take properties from ten dogs and recombine them into a new valid dog. Once the neural net commits to a certain graph it will finish that exact graph.

  • Linux-native Dota is a bit worse than Windows Dota, to the point that I tried to run it in Proton instead (doesn't work). With the right start config (-dx11) it runs fine though. Same for Deadlock, it was almost unplayable without -dx11.

  • I don't know with what spells Wizard War 3 will be fought, but Wizard War 4 will be fought with fists and stones.

  • Hey, wait a minute! Buyer lady was afraid the seller lady would turn out to be a lad, so she sent a lad in her place? What did she think would happen if seller lady actually showed up and got jump-scared by this buyer lad instead? She's lucky both these lads got along, because either of them could have decided to call off the deal and go home when they saw the terms were violated.

  • I take off my onesie before entering the bathroom, but then I'm really cold... Which I'd be anyway because it's all around my ankles on the floor. I think we need more flaps.

  • A squeaky onion is an undercooked onion imo, same for celery and carrots. I give those vegetables a big headstart on everything else. They're basically impossible to overcook and their best flavors come out when they're soft through and through.

  • Is that the episode with Cesar Milan? I'm not saying his techniques won't work for children, but...

  • I wonder if the video added anything to the text or if Tiktok is just twitter with mandatory face reveals.

  • But if it was growing in Europe at that time, wouldn't it be all over the place and be in books in the Middle Ages? Unless the Bronze Agers somehow smoked all of it.

This uses Catblock with a custom image set, but Catblock hasn't been updated in 6 years, so I don't know how well it still works. Anyway, if Catblock won't work, we have to find a blocker that allows for some customization and then fit those "They Live" images in.

(I'm trying to get Catblock to work, but somehow I can't find any pages that even load ads? I think the pihole is blocking the scripts that would load the ads.)
