  • I left during the strike and haven't been back since, abandoned my 10 year account. Been here ever since. Gotta admit I miss some of subs that pertained to my hobbies. They were initially small with little activity until Covid, then they all blew up. Lemmy is okay but it'll take years to get enough members for niche communities to function.

  • I say this as someone who longs for the day when Trump is a thing of the past like when someone brings up Covid these days. Also I have nearly 30 years in the water treatment business and algae is a nemesis during the summer months. To have such a problem with algae so soon after refilling it is odd. I don't buy the idea that it was living in pipes that weren't cleaned. If true high phosphate levels are suspicious. The water evaporation claim is BS too.

  • The time gap between the news stories about Trump Media's terms and the release of the Trump Phone was only a month or less. Not enough time to put together something like that. My personal conspiracy theory has been that it was an attempt to embarrass the press. The phones were ready to be shipped and TM changed the terms to say there was no guarantee any "Device will be commercially released". They let that play out on the blogs for a while then released the phones. Now the narrative can be "look how wrong The Media was" instead of, "Look at how cheap these phones made in China are".

  • I got PADI certified when I was younger. No ocean near me so I had to fly, stay in a resort and pay a dive operator to take me out. It was very cool but too expensive for the short amount of time in the water (length depends on depth). It seemed to be popular with the middle age crowd that liked to vacation in warm places, dive during the day then party at night
