  • The closest one to me is NY and I dont live in NY so it's not going to happen as much as I would have liked it to haha. Im not that far either, probably would take an hour or hour and a half to get to it, but the extra cost paying for bridge tolls and parking, or taking the train in just is not worth it these days. If I was 20 years younger I absolutely would have made it happen, but these days just getting to see it is a win.

  • It's hard for me to get time to go to a movie in theaters. I have wanted to see this one since last year. I can't remember the last time I ever had this much trouble trying to find a seat. I thought i would be able to get in for this weekend and realized it was all gone at like 5 imax theaters that are sort of in my area. I started to realize all the seats were gone till its out of imax which is aug 5th. Had to get tickets to a 10pm weekday show this week to get semi ok seats. At least they are running a 50% off for the weekdays which sort of makes up for it. Cant wait to finally see it, although im defintely going to suffer the next day at work if i won't get home till 2am... yolo? Lol

  • I think all places are reserved seats now. Just dont list them for sale anymore. Then they can eventually be swapped with any seats that break. Kind of works out well if you ask me.

  • Loaded question! When i was younger I had a list of stuff i wanted to try like classic rock which moved to other more obscure genres from the past while also keeping up with what was newer and semi popular through websites, articles, and local radio.

I have always gotten most music off my private pirate sites and use local apps to stream my entire library on my phone, pc, or anything else everywhere. It has gotten so good lately that it can build out radio style mixes based off popular track information and even using AI (first time i have ever thought it was useful) to build playlists of similar tracks in the library based off individual wave lengths to get the best accuracy. I tried using spotify once when i got 6 months free and found that i only used it like 3 times and found it more dificult to find what i wanted or new stuff to check out weirdly enough. These days i mostly just download whats new for artists i already know and see them in the top 10 of my pirate sites or just new stuff in the top 10 that fits the genres i like. At the end of the year ill check out top 50 lists to see if i missed anything and ill get them as well. Its worked out pretty good for the past 20 years now although as i get older it gets harder to find the time or interest in it like I used to...

  • Sometimes you just don't discover everything out about that person even years after being with them. This is especially true when you meet at younger ages. Also everyone changes the older you get. The person you marry can absolutely change over a decade as everything becomes a never ending routine and you each find things you can no longer tolerate as much as you used to when you dated and tried harder (for some reason) to be like the other person. Knowing this now I wish it was mandatory for everyone to wait 5 years before getting engaged and 2 of those years has to be living together. Even then you never know who they will be 10 years from now. The worst part about getting older is wishing you knew all of what you know now but 20-30 years ago so you could have actually applied it when it mattered.

  • Nope, can't really afford that. We got our oldest (9) into a town service program for science that does nature hikes but is only a week and half a day. We also got him into another town thing but does cost money, but not to much. It is also only a week and half days. Outside that our youngest hasnt even had school yet but will be going this fall. My wife is a teacher so she is also home. I work from home as of the past few years now and so I am super excited when everyone goes back, including our youngest which will be the first time in years that I get to not work and be stay at home dad. I hope to finally get some work done in silence this fall lol.

  • As a parent, this is me waiting for the kids to go back. Does that count?

  • I came from reddit 2 or 3 years ago now and i think most others are the same. Idk about all of a sudden. Its had the same undertones for a while now if you ask me and i think it grows along with the more people that join. As for politics I got tired of that the year before the last election. I invested some time into filters with certain words. Some stuff still slips by, but i am fine with seeing a few things.

Personally I can't wait for more of that, the one thing this place lacks is the smaller unique communities that bring a lot of great obscure information to the table.

  • From what I heard it can be due to the audio mix used. Most content is set to a 5.1 mix or higher, and the majority of people still just use their 2.0 tv speakers. Sometimes you can pick the audio on some services and some may have a 2.0 option but i think its rare these days.

  • I must be the opposite then, because that would be all i think about all week. Whenever work just calls me for something semi critical while im on vacation and gets fixed I still lose the entire day because I cant relax after that...

  • The article states it is from sunday. They clearly made it accurate as they could. Theres some good points in the comments here so who knows if it was completely faked somehow, but if he really does look that good somehow and as the arricle states theres literally nothing wrong with him the entire time, then a month off sounds like a lot and he should be back to work this week right? Well see him anyday now back to it! Cant wait.

  • Ahh ok, so drugs it is. I thought the cause of death was due to the gold injection, im actually shocked he survived that now.

  • So either he always had some mental health issues, or the lack of nutrition he did to keep the body he had lead himself to make very bad decisions because his brain couldnt process correctly anymore.

  • I read that same line 3 times before realizing this is not comic book villain bad.

  • These fines feel bigger than the ones we fine oil or other huge corporations for actually doing awful things...

  • Doubt it. A smaller plane will be around 15,000ft which would mean the fall would be about 1 and a half minutes to impact. I also doubt they were at that altitude so it would be less than that. Unless it was fast and massive I dont think you can die that quick from a heart attack. Passing out would be the best case scenerio, but even that is probably low chance as well.

  • I agreed with you up until more expensive games, shittier graphics and performance. For the price of the console when it released it was a solid choice and was hard to buy a PC at the same price point that offered better performance. 6 years later and this holds true even more now than it did before. Steam box is apparently around the same performance with some things better and some things worse but at over $500 more for the one. Ps5 really holds its value for the price for what you get. I do wonder if that will hold true for the ps6 though (not holding my breath).

  • I think the other bad part is even the no name brands have ramped up prices as well... for a bit it was pretty good, but I feel like a lot of them just ended up pricing themselves the same as they did before, which is like .50 cents less or maybe a $1 less than the main brand. At that point i say its not even worth it and either decide on just buying the name brand cause the savings is dumb or just not buy it again until they lower the price or it goes on a good sale.
