  • You built a mashed potato grave.

  • And here i am with my phone still stuck on 14... I know it was a short time between 15 and 16, but still, catch up a little bit! Honestly, my only complaint about Android. I am not a fan of the pixel series either.

Edit: Never mind! I decided to check for an update and found it was ready as of early May, but for some reason, my phone didn't check. Installing now. Now to wait another 8 months for 16.

  • I never had nose hair that bothered me until my mid 30's. I think that may be what they mean. I now trim all the time. Otherwise, my nose gets super itchy. I also have no idea how people pull them... hurts so much.

  • Dam, at 25 I still felt great. I think it started taking its toll on me every year after that though. 30 onward everything is tiring, it was a good run...

  • It still didn't go away, so I decided to take a piss and it mysteriously disappeared finally.

  • It says it's been doing this for 8 years. So, since AI hasn't even been around that long, does that mean they were always like this and just lied that they switched over to AI? I wonder if they just encouraged the current employees to field the response and then they would run it through another AI to provide answers. Either way there had to be some delay which I feel would have been the dead giveaway?

  • Still beats what happened to my coworker a little over a year ago. He did LSD with a friend, and the friend murdered him. It was pretty crazy to find out about.

  • Apple, just deal with it.

  • I am also using Navidrome and Symfonium. It's about as good as local library playback can get! Thanks for a new one to try Feishin, never heard of it before. I have tried setting up Lidarr, but I never got it to grab stuff and rename it to what i like, so I stopped. I'm sure I probably could, but I didn't want to spend the time trying.

My current setup is grab from Orpheus or redacted, run it through program generically called tagscanner (been using it for years and love it) then drop everything into musicbrainz Picard with custom setup to only grab genres for everything and will attach up to 5 different ones. From there, i move everything to the music library by artist and subfolder for albums. Once there, i load Musicbee, which is my pc app of choice because of the customization and audio playback quality. Once there, if any album art is missing, it's easily discoverable and then loaded into navidrome.

The hardest part was discovering that I should organize properly after a decade of collecting music, and it took months to reorganize and tag everything properly. I had to do that once more with genres. Once I figured out how to automate that and would take chunks at a time and have it do it over days, which also took months. It's been about 10 years of me doing it this way and has worked great if not a bit tedious.

  • They banned them in my state in the US as well several years ago. It's crazy when we go away and realize that not everywhere has this ban, and I kind of stock up with a bunch to take back home, lol.

  • Never been to burning man but I would have loved to have tried it. I did go to Bonnaroo for 4 years straight and 6 years total. Almost a 7th but the fest was legit cancelled an hour before we were going to start driving. And yeah so many amazing stories to count. The first year going holds a special place in my heart since it opened me up to a whole new world. I went with friends who knew other friends. Campsite was about a dozen of us and made new friends for life after that. It's overload being able to not only have some of the best moments ever, but also see some of your favorite bands where some will do something you may never see elsewhere. Wish I could do this again someday, but I do think we are all done at this point sadly. I did say when we get really old like late 50's we should go back in style. We ran into several older groups of people that had hilarious stories to tell and I kind of want to be them haha.

  • As someone with kids, they ruined my not sleeping time. I used to stay up because it was the only time to myself and crash around 2am. Now I'm lucky if I can keep my eyes open past midnight... I also can't sleep in anymore either. My wife leaves around 6am to work and I am basically up. Kids out the door at 7:15 so not much time between anyway. It sucks because i wanna sleep in on Saturday and Sunday still but it's ingrained into me at this point so I am up at like 7am tops... on the flip side I have learned to just do all the things I wanted to at 11pm at 7am instead!

  • I think the point of doing this first is not about getting fame, but to be ready for it. Once you are famous someone can claim the domain you wanted and hold it hostage so by doing this you don't have to deal with that later on.

  • That was not something I expected to spend 20 minutes watching. I am questioning everything now...

  • Probably nothing. Most likely, a paid consultant to give ideas. And if it was a worker, they were just doing their job and at most got a "great job, keep up the good work," praise email.

  • It's these unique memories that become extra sad once your pet passes. This probably won't happen with another cat, so you will forever remember this as one of the defining things they did forever.

  • As someone who has been on an on call rotation plus randomly called for things specifically revolving around things I manage at work for 19 years now, i am jealous of being allowed the sense of freedom from the phone. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but she will never get this feeling... I hope one day to have a better job that isn't working for a place that is open 24/7...

  • That's why you didn't remember. You did this before and made some 1 off password and you will never remember those 1 off passwords.
