  • Yeah, I agree that decentralization of the grid and self-consumption is better than these mass baseload solutions...but they will only get cheaper.

  • I disagree. If you have thousands of these and some program live cross-matching and correlating everything about everyone, it is a different problem from "being seen in public" or even traditional street cameras. Before, they could investigate a limited number of people, so they had to focus on suspects and a case. Now they just mass trawl everyone's lives simultaneously.

  • They really must take every single last one source of joy from everyone who hasn't turned into sheep at this point.

  • AI allows you to quiet quit without shitty bosses noticing. Win win :/

  • It already lost when it sold out.

  • They had to do one thing...

  • burn your clothes too...and don't forget to cleanse your intestines...you never know :D oh oh and screening for the sexually transmitted spyware.

  • That's a hell of a faustian bargain, good luck with that.

  • Just ask it what the Helvetica scenario is. Funny and terrifying at the same time.

  • Move into the machine city, probably they keep the machines cool inside.

  • Can we finally call them machine cities? And we're losing the war against the machines, by the way.

  • it came pre-enshittified, quelle surprise

  • Oh... I guess you need 1 year on just a library and a linux machine and a next year with an added search engine before getting your AI coder driver's licence.

  • This is why corpos prefer dictators.

  • Oh no, not this fiend again...

  • I watched the first official full length AI-based film on TV the other day and while it was aesthetically consistent with a message of dreariness and edited by humans, after 5 minutes it got tiresome. It's like second life 2 (or whatever facebook calls it): has some potential...but who wants to spend their free time consuming this slop?

  • The guns coming out of AI factories are propaganda and divinding to conquer. So unless you're thinking metaphorically "armed with concord and live community building", I doubt that being armed will help much against other brainwashed people...I guess it beats having nothing...but the work to do is not there, it is in social cohesion.
