  • I think, at best, this interview is a non-event. It's not going to make a difference with conservatives and it's not going to make a difference with her own base. Probably not for independents either. The biggest win is probably that she can say she did it, and Trump is too afraid to do the same.

  • Yes, I definitely think pollsters are compensating for Trump's hidden voters by now. Like you say, they've had both 2016 and 2020 to get it worked into the polling. It's rare to get three tries to work it out. I'd be very surprised if they undercount it again.

    I still think Trump is such a well-known commodity now and all of this is nothing new. We've been talking about his "hidden voters" so much for so long that I actually think polls may be overcompensating a bit for that. Or at least they could be pretty well calibrated for it at this point. Guess we'll see in less than a month.

    I think it's pretty clear by now that Republicans, and certainly Trump, will say they won regardless of the election results.

  • There are a lot of very poor people in the US compared to other developed countries. There are also a lot more extremely rich people. The inequality is palpable, and it shows in the stats. The US government also doesn't step in with coverage when it comes to healthcare, unemployment and other emergencies to the same degree as governments in other western countries.

  • There's no doubt that the US has extreme problems when it comes to health and consumption. Much more so than any other developed country on earth. Unhealthy lifestyles are ingrained into the culture. But I still notice more people taking note. Not so much among conservative groups, but much more among progressives and independents.
