  • Yes. Those exactly. Except at a leather bar they have a mirror mounted on the wall above them.

  • They have always reminded me of a trough type urinal in a gay men's leather bar, especially the silver ones.

  • The depth and darkness of your holes.

  • If you guys like trance-y electronica give the album Trance by Chis & Cosey a listen. It was incredibly far ahead of its time when released in 1982. Chris & Cosey were half of the highly influential industrial punk performance act, Throbbing Gristle. (My favorite album by the latter being 20 Jazz Funk Greats, which doesn't have twenty tracks, nor is it even remotely jazz-funk related. Lol)

  • You're right. That was a few years ago. Things got much more strict. And much less fun as time went on.

  • And the bans make no sense!! I got a site-wide seven day ban for the George Orwell 1984 double-plus-good reference. But before that I posted in some gay men's subreddit I followed in response to a young guy who was saying he got the icks when an old dude friend of the family was being flirty with him at some family function. I said that if he was upset with the old man flirting with him then I was thinking perhaps I shouldn't have buttfucked my 13 yr old nephew at his bar mitzvah. For that drunken comment I only got a warning that I could be subject to a three day ban from that particular subreddit.

  • I commented on a post about the Trump administration censoring historical information that they considered 'woke' on government websites with - "Double Plus Good." Anyone with a brain in their head knows this is a reference to George Orwell's seminal anti-totalitarian novel 1984. But I got banned for it. I assumed it was an automatic bot ban just based on a bunch of user downvotes from idiots who thought that I was in support of censorship, so I appealed, which is supposed to be reviewed by a human. But they kept the ban in place.

  • Btw, even though I've been happy with my service through US Mobile I began the process to port my three numbers to Mint Mobile today. This is because they're offering three months of unlimited for $15 per line, per month. US Mobile has a promo for $16 a line for four months BUT two of my lines had already received that promo so their system would not let them reapply the discount. Also, this may seem trite but US Mobile is now partnering with (f)Elon Musk's Starlink and, even though I'm sure it's a losing battle, I do not wish to willingly float that turd of a human being a dime of my money. But, anyway, I had to pull the plug on Mint Mobile because they stuck a bullshit 'recovery' fee ($23.25) and a few bucks sales tax ($3.93) of $27.18 total onto the last payment screen when I was trying to set up three new lines. So fuck Mint Mobile!!! I cannot abide shifty mother fuckers. I'll pay their goddamn recovery fee when Ryan Reynolds knocks on my door and offers to blow me.

  • We switched to US Mobile last October and I've kind of been a bit shocked at how good and responsive their customer service is to be a MVNO prepaid utilizing Indian call centers.

Also, US Mobile partners with all three major carriers, so you can pick your network! They have to use different names because of copyrights but here is the translation: AT&T = Dark Star, Verizon = Warp, T-Mobile= Light Speed

Their unlimited plans all come with hotspot and start at $25 monthly regular price but they always have promos for new customers and you can prepay for a year of service and get unlimited for as little as around $16 a month. They ALSO always seem to have fantastic prices on the current model Google Pixel base phone and Pro XL, if you're an Android person like me.

  • The only social media I have ever gotten into was Reddit. I was on that platform for over a decade. But eventually it became too toxic and caused me way too much stress. Every innocuous post or comment I made was subject to a barrage of unnecessary and unjustified criticism. I was constantly being banned anywhere from 72-hours to permanently for no logical reason. So after a decade I deleted my account.

I've noticed Lemmy seems to be going this way too compared to when I first joined a year and a half ago. The user base seems to be swelling with self-righteous Karens waiting to tear down any and all content. And, just like Reddit, the mods are falling dutifully into line behind them. Lemmy is far less enjoyable today than it was only six months ago. If trolls just ranted I'd ignore and block but the mods support them by deleting content. I'm a grown ass man pushing sixty years old. I can make my own mind up about content and comments. I don't need somebody else doing it for me.

  • Wanna taste my jelly? Wanna taste my jam? Better be wearin' a dental dam. -Sandra Bernhard

  • Opposite here. I was born in 1969, so I was a kid in the seventies. My mom was a stay-at-home housewife who packed my school lunches. Often it would consist of a sandwich made of just margarine and sugar on Wonder Bread with the crust cut off (cut diagonally), with either a Jello chocolate pudding or a Ding Dong back when they were wrapped in foil.

  • And I believe I've read that the majority consumed in the US is in the ultra-conservative south.

  • This. I'm a hairdresser and people just do not have the time it takes to create or sit for these elaborate hairstyles any longer. Also, hygiene habits have changed. Most people shower, not bathe, and women would keep these hairstyles for one to two weeks before washing them out and redoing. Most women won't go one day without washing their hair now.

  • I used to work for the federal government and we all HATED a certain department manager. It was a huge facility with hundreds of employees and had an institutional sized break room with several glass door commercial refrigerators, like you see at convenience stores. Employees had to have their names on all refrigerated items or they would be thrown out. Somehow I wound up with a bottle of chocolate flavored edible lube, so I put the department manager's name on it and stuck it amongst the bottles of condiments. The department manager was too good to eat in the break room with the peons, so she never saw it. Everybody hated her and got a huge laugh out of it and the chocolate lube sat in the fridge for months :) Maybe put something like that randomly in their refrigerator or in a cabinet.
