  • Honestly, the more liberal you go as a Christian, the more you have to struggle with cognitive dissonance.

I doubt very much that a historical Jesus would have been cool with lgbtq, women that weren’t property, and being told that slavery is uncool.

First off, despite what a lot of people claim, Jesus was a fundamentalist of sorts pushing to return to the strict laws of Moses. He wasn’t progressive, and that includes laws like stoning women for not crying out as they’re raped. But also, if the girl weren’t betrothed she’d be forced to marry her rapist and had no chance to leave them. All the rapist would be punished with is paying for the goods- “you break it you buy it” mentality.

Second off, he was running around the ass end of the boondocks faking miracles and grifting the ever living shit out id them. He’s as big a con artist as Trump.

All this to say, when you have to start trimming the book of all the awful shit, you eventually start to look at the Swiss cheese of paper and go “why should I?” (And we can add the early church fathers for the Catholics)

  • My library is spectacular. They have meeting spaces for all sorts of things: events and mini fairs, supporting a huge variety of clubs- from - hackspace for 3d printing and similar to quilting and knitting to…

Well let’s just put it this way, one of the events was a Mongolian circus performance.

They also have the quiet spaces for study and books

  • As Hubbard said… about writing… “if I wanted to get rich, I wouldn’t write sci-fi. I’d start a religion.”

(Reality check. His sci-fi was dogshit. Not even vaguely entertaining slop.)

  • Opportunist... "It's an empty glass. I drank it while you were arguing."

  • They did ask, yes. But Perry never mentioned they ran the school and daycare. He was barred from contact with minors, and because he had sterling character references didn't bother to look closer at it. ("trust me, he's a good guy. I'm his pastor. says the appropriate prayer and pays his sin tax on time!")

  • So if you mix the cake uranium and the glitter, and then sprinkle it on the corrupted moth...

Would you get mutant rainbow glitter moths that glow in the dark? (cuz that's how it all works, right? :P )

  • Not that mysterious, actually.

They weren’t “friends”- they were compatriots, and they were gonna talk. So they got offed.

  • So we know who pushed the barrel, then,

  • Turtlesoup for the fishes.

  • What’s funny about that is he’d be replaced by a GOP- Kentafuckyou changed the rules because of the dem governor

  • Don’t tell him. Cat wants to see how dense he is.

  • Like real talk.

I would be a better president than trump. But I would still be a terrible president.

You can fuck off with that "you'll take a bad candidate and like it or else" bullshit. It's a hat older than lemmy.

  • He's said he's not.

granted, he can't be worse than the asshole we currently have, but, like. that's a very, very low standard. Positively subterranean.

  • The destroyer sent in exodus to slaughter Egyptian firstborn was definitely not benevolent.

  • the can of worms is open. They're in discovery now, which is the exchange of documents. (In this case, BBC gets to see trumps financials to show that Trump was lying about his businesses)

Trump can appeal the decision (and probably will) but I don't think he's allowed to just pull out.

  • I'm surprised he didn't duck out before discovery.

Did he run out of lawyers to go all "queen of hearts" on?

  • *corrupt. that's how corrupt he is as a leader. probably only got use like 400 billion for the actual military budget and the rest gets split between him and trump and whoever else he needs to buy off/suck off.

  • ILLEGALLY halts.

he has no authority to decide not to pay medicaid to either state.

  • YAY! FASCISM!!!

    it's what assholes crave!

  • This should be considered treason.

They’re a foreign power who’s bought so many of our legislators that those legislators are now crafting laws for their country to subsume our military.
