Not very exciting, but loved hanging out on beaches on the west coast. This one went from a dock to a nice sandy beach that was bordered by a clay cliff. Well, a friend and I roll up and run quite a distance (ah, youthful energy!) exploring along the clay cliffs when the waves get weirdly big and loud. I guess the tide was actually coming in, not going out, and the cliffs weren't climbable. Only way safely out was off the beach and back to the dock. The stretch we were on wasn't even accesible at high tide, totally underwater. My friend was a big fella, but he tucked it in and ran with me like Ive never seen him run before. We were fine, but I remember feeling that realization strike.
Who would downvote this lol? No kids, but also fully am tired of the us vs them mentality with cf versus childed. In today's world there is usually a much greater sacrifice to have kids and to be able to afford or have a community to have date nights and such, but having children is still an adventure that many parents enjoy. You probably hear a lot from the complainers, though. Similar to married guys who sigh and call their wives the old woman... the happily married are silent af usually.
For the first time ever, I opened a bundle to realize the dice straight up hadn't been included. I opened a ticket after showing proof of purchase and was told Wizards was experiencing a higher than normal volume for returns and issues, so it'd be while before I saw it.

This is actually changing. Historically, folks usually moved more right as they aged, but that is shifting as folks agr now. Times are different, tons of people who did everything right can't even afford a house now.
Sure! There are the cattle I mentioned in my post which are genetically distinct (if a bit inbred now after generations on the island), a story of a domestic cow escaping in Poland to live in the Bialowieza Forest among wild bison, the feral cattle in Australia which are descendants of domesticated herds, Chirikof island cattle in Alaska which live on only grass, etc. There may be some good videos online which also cover the topic. I do believe a lot of successful feral cattle likely come from beef lines, however. I don't see dairy cattle being quite so successful considering how extremely we've bred them, but I could be wrong.
Fair point. Even in this case that could be true, but the added context made me fill in the blanks to believe the disappointment was more about him not being able to pass certain things on since he believed in traditional gender roles.
There are pockets of feral cattle in the world, including on Swona in Scotland, Australia, etc. So cows dont necessarily need us to survive, but we have bred things like dairy cows to such extremes that I doubt they would fare well. I do think it's debatable that dairy cows are treated well, I think it unfortunately depends a lot on which farmer they end up with and how they view livestock livelihood.
I had a very Christian coworker who already had a daughter and who was part of the maga pipeline. He didn't hide his disappointment when he told me the gender of he and his wife's next child had been revealed as another girl. Sent a shudder up my spine how he paused and said it in a sad tone, the way you would if you were a teenager expecting a Mustang for your birthday and instead having your parents roll up in a Saturn for you. What kind of world do we live in where folks are disappointed that their next kid will be female? It's dumb society has been crafted this way, stupid af.
How do people have money to just afford replacing things like this? Or is this a sacrificial chair for the cat? Is all their furniture like this? I have so many questions.
Am I the only one who preferred the "skinnier" style of controller like the old GameCube or even N64 controllers? I loved that grip control, now it feels like we've been either trending towards bloated controllers like this one that suck for people with smaller hands or those tiny little joycons that hurt to use long term.
I'd do it, but retiring early = doing my hobbies instead. Long days writing books, making art, volunteering, and pet sitting. Retiring would just mean working the jobs I want instead of the ones I have to.
I honestly throw mine wherever without thinking about it. Def has been on lap or in crotch a few times.
