  • That's consumer pricing.

  • Not true. Veracrypt's hidden file system is random data on a preexisting partition that uses no software. You can only detect it if you install Veracrypt and guess the password.

    https://veracrypt.io/en/Hidden%20Volume.html

  • How is this better than a Veracrypt hidden partition on a standard thumb drive?

  • He forgot the: Because investors are now the only ones with money to spend.

  • Hah nice

  • He is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old girl when he was 18, according to Tyler Boebert’s arrest affidavit written by invesigators from the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.

I mean, not quite the same. In most western countries this would not be news or a crime.

He has also been cited twice on misdemeanor child abuse charges, according to 9NEWS. Most recently in February, Tyler Boebert’s 2-year-old son wandered away from his mother’s home while he was allegedly watching the child.

And this one isn't Epsteinesq, though very troubling and would be the crimes.

  • This is the way of the world right now.

"Oh no, things are going bad for us, raise prices so we will be OK when this dies!"

    Screw the future. Sad times.

  • I loved the phrasing in this one.

    Many will read it as:

    We're not punk kids anymore

But it should be read as:

    We're not pink kids anymore

    We are adults. Punk adults.

  • This wouldn't be an obstacle for grid, only for mobile/moving applications.

  • Or buying a farm.

Jakkuh's store launched with "debt" branding: https://jakkuh.shop/. Found that humerous.

  • This is one of the few actually cool and useful implementariins to me. It reminds me of my work writing systems to detect antimicrobial issues in hospitals.

A shame it's getting so much hate, but they did choose to brand with "AI" so they get what they ask for.

  • This is basically a beefed up IVR with better customer satisfaction reports, so.. yes.

But as I said in the other comment, giving updates to callers is something a standard answering system can't do.

  • My understanding from other articles is caller satisfaction is greater with the TTS system, and it uses voice IVR to triage of they have additional information. AI is not bullshit in and of itself. This product seems barely diffeent from what they provided with APEX.

Recordings also can't auto respond with updates to the caller like this can, which is a pretty nice feature, even if it's just TTS.

  • Everyone should read before reacting:

This is intended to handle the increase of calls that are related to one incident, so callers get automatically routed to an AI agent who asks if they are calling regarding the incident. If the answer is yes, then callers can receive information or updates, and if it's no, then the callers are transferred to a human.

This makes sense. A big thing happens that you are aware of. Geolocated calls from that area flood in. An operator, who could be getting useful info, has to handle a flood of "Guess what I just saw!"

Note that I think they should spend the money on more operators instead, but at least this seems like it has good guardrails.

  • I used to do this for my virtual gaming rig, and the catch is still idle draw. Just one B70 pulls over 30W idle, then there's the nvidia card and then CPU etc, too. As this machine is solely for remote development and inference, I want it fully off.

Now, I guess I do have all the confidential stuff in encrypted ZFS, so I can shutdown the docker containers, unmount ZFS, and suspend. This gives me encryption at rest. The problem is the startup/resume is actually slower than you might think.

  • wants to sleep between each frame

Key fact: This only happens in battery saving mode. The patch doesn't help other modes.

  • Power saving with encryption at rest. I want the GPUs offline power wise.

  • Yea, I was hoping to not have to go the scratch route, but we shall see. I do already run ZFS.

Edit: And I'm using suspend now, but am unhappy without encryption at rest. Also, full memory GPUs don't suspend very quickly.
