I'm single, childless, and married to freedom and adventure.

ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.

Also, I refuse to use Donald's last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

  • There’s a difference between a fascist and a gutless politician. Trump is the former, Biden is the latter.

    The only difference is one says mean things and one doesn't. That's it. Biden supported cop cities (and by extension, murderous cops), didn't do anything to actually make life livable in America for most (and in fact, wanted to make banks report lower balances so they could tax gig workers harder), and enthusiastically supplied WMD's to a genocide. That to me is pretty darn fascist.

    LOL, I remember in Biden's State of the Union when he ridiculed the Defund the Police movement, and it became crystal clear that you were voting fascist no matter who you picked.

    Fuck yes Dems should be more discerning, but it's not like you the voter have any power. It's the rich picking your candidates for you too.

  • The irony here is that Trump's coalition was so broad because these minority groups felt abandoned when Biden didn't fulfill his promises, but everyone here is kind of just pretending Harris would have actually done something for them. Whether it was inflation, cop cities, endless war, abortion repeal, or assisting in the perpetration of child genocide, Dems did a really shitty job.

    And for those of you about to whine about 'both sides-ism', yes, both of you do lie and make extravagant promises during campaign time, and then always fail to deliver.

    But you still vote Democrat and Republican anyway.

  • I love that I never learned about this until I read history books for fun as an adult. You'd think that young students, growing up in this country, should know what the wealthy class has done in full to try and keep them oppressed, whether it's the Business Plot, the Battle for Blair Mountain, the violent government response to rail strikes, etc. etc. etc.

    But no.

    Schools don't teach this stuff on purpose.

  • That's probably the global feed, which yes, moves super-fast. I found that annoying at first too.

    There's a checkbox to turn off auto-scroll in settings, and it's got an appropriate name: Slow Mode.

    I left a job of twelve years in 2017 and ended up in a place where I love working and my efforts are well-rewarded both culturally and monetarily, but it was scary as hell at the time.

  • Its' pretty great.

    As with the time I joined Mastodon, it takes a couple of weeks to find what you like and build up a good feed, but once you do that, it's useful and fun. I wish it had more curation tools, but I enjoy it.
