Artist, musical performer, and former derby skater from the Midwest.

I'm single, childless, and married to freedom and adventure.

ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.

Also, I refuse to use Donald's last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

  • But I’m smart enough to realize that was the best option I had.

    No.

You, like them, are just a-okay with swallowing excuses. That or you're one of the folks fortunate enough that your only concern is making it to brunch. The rest of us pay for our groceries, medical bills, power bills, and rent and know full well just how evil the lesser evil was in this election.

  • I feel like some of the people here should consider why we all know she would vote the same way if an election was held immediately after making this post.

Because, except for a minute percentage, all of you vote team color, no matter what.

That minute percentage gets to be finger-wagged at for not wanting to vote for a party that is enthusiastically supporting a genocide killing their family and friends abroad, or sitting idly by while fascism takes root here in the US, or ignoring that basic living is becoming unaffordable. Because, totally, why should anyone expect that working full time pays for rent, utilities, health care, AND groceries?

  • It's not lying to expect Democrats to fight as hard for doing the things they promise as the Republicans are fighting to drive us to full-on fascism.

And you making excuses for it is absurd after watching what's happened in the US for the last nine months. Democrats always had all the power they needed. They just didn't care about anything other than enriching themselves.

  • You just sat through the last nine months and you honestly believe that?

    Everything they could do?

More like they made every excuse they could possibly make.

You are mistaken or lying to yourself.

  • They were lied to about tariffs, just like you Democrats were lied to about student loan relief and living wages.

Both of you act aghast when you get exactly what you voted for.

  • Yup, that time of year when I have to turn on my theater-kid mode and pretend I enjoy all the work-related stuff I have to show up to and "enjoy" or it could literally hurt my career.

  • Thanksgiving with family is the worst, for many reasons.

Just let me be alone with my dogs, eating and drinking whatever I want in my quiet, clean house. Now that's a holiday.

  • Very simple.

It's imprecise, and for your work, you'd like to be sure the work product you're producing is top quality.

  • After Obama, I don't get excited about any politician until I see the fucking votes.

Words don't matter. Someone saying the right things does not matter. I'm going to wait to see what happens once the reins of power are in their hands.

    Maybe Mamdani's different. We'll see.

  • Absolutely.

I read a study years ago that concluded that dogs love baby talk, so I give them what they want.

  • I work in legal tech.

Can confirm. We're weird, and you don't want to piss off accounting.

  • Pretty good.

    • PCP - Good
    • Dentist - Awesome, been a patient of his for 8 years.
    • Eye Doctor - Awesome, only have to see her once a year.

Overall, very pleased. I'm one of the lucky ones.

  • I've seen a bunch.

Had my phone wish me a happy birthday on the wrong day. I had a whole folder of emails inexplicably moved back into my inbox, and yes, various wacky hardware problems.

It's clear that a bunch of the people they laid off were QA people.

  • IT has been an interesting ride the last two months, encountering some of the weirdest bugs I've ever seen, after two decades of Windows working just fine for the most part.

  • My god, the red conservatives and the blue conservatives are so incredibly hysterical.

  • Love how they're pretending that an LLM is useful for any task that needs precision.

  • It's complicated, but I see your point. My parents treat us like ATM's sometimes.

But for me the distinction is intent. I don't think my parents do any of this with the intent of not following through. They're just pathologically irresponsible.

I also blame our culture and our country, because most first-world countries take care of the elderly as part of their social welfare system. Here, if you're in your 80's it doesn't matter. Don't work and society will find a way to put you on the street so a billionaire can add a fraction of a point to their dividends.

  • I have two very irresponsible parents, and in one case they took a loan from my eldest brother (that I ended up helping them repay) because he involved a lawyer to compel them to act responsibly in paying him back.

I consider that a little bit evil.

I have another older brother. My parents signed their house over to him in exchange for $10,000 to pay some back taxes, on the verbal agreement that they can reside there until they pass away. (They're elderly.) Fast forward five years, and now I have to beg for money via GoFundMe to help with their legal defense because he's literally trying to render them homeless. (Thankfully we won.)

I consider him legit evil. Throwing your parents out into the streets is a legit evil thing to do, even if they are a pain in the ass. (And they are, they're 21 months into me "loaning" them my car so they can drive for DoorDash.)

  • After Jussie Smollett, can't imagine why anyone thinks doing something like this is a good idea.
