  • Marginal Tax brackets drive me insane especially my parents constantly misunderstand and think a payrise will make them lose money.

    They don't understand that the tax is only paid on the money earned in that bracket. So going up 5% isn't your total income being taxed an extra 5% its only the money earned on that bracket that is taxed at the higher rate.

  • I don't know of any short games I barely play single player. For me the only games I enjoy are sandbox games and competitive multiplayer. I cannot deal with how boring it is to play against ai enemies but at the same time it takes so much regular playing and even some studying to maintain being good at a multiplayer game and when you switch the learning curve is brutal.

  • I think the average person vastly over estimates how much waste is produced. If I recall the stat was that the entire world's nuclear waste could fit in a football field. That's really tiny.

This new lady has got a hard road ahead and i dont think she can do the classic Microsoft strategy of dumping money into exclusive games to force people onto platform.   • Gaming, it's so hard not to view it as a complete waste of time at my age. But all my social life is driven through it. So I'm playing games to hangout with friends but the entire time I'm bored of the game and resenting spending my time and energy on it.

  • As quality of life rises there are more things competing for peoples interest as well as the cost of large raising a child being very high. Like if you're 25 and making money do you want to fly around the world creating experiences and having fun in the short term or do you want to save up your money to spend it all on your kids.

    To increase births the recurring living costs need to go down, we need housing to ~20% rents or house prices. Maybe groceries down 10% and we're probably see an increase. Public daycare's becoming more common as well because that costs an arm and a leg.

    Also im reason only leaving out working time because its not bad here averaging 37 hours per week with lots of holidays and paid maturinty leave and your job must be held open for you to return to.
