They are filled with people saying that this is a very poorly written article about an interesting topic.
From what I can glean with my limited knowledge. This insanely high "temperature" of 30-50k, is actually how the author is trying to represent the speed of particles. However, the insanely small amount of particles means the "temperature" is almost imperceptible. I think? This is why Voyager was able to cross this barrier with no issues. As one commenter put it, an astronaut in a space suit would not be able to notice the difference.
Also, the article talks about why this phenomenon occurs, it's the sun's magnetic field. And inside the field, it's like an atmosphere that is different than outside. And the winds outside move a lot faster. Even though the particles are few and far between. As the sun moves throughout space it's magnetic field creates an effect similar to that of a ship moving through water. Also, the magnetic field itself fluctuates with the sun so it's shape and size changes. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Also, someone commented something questioning how the Voyager, a half-a-century-old device, could accomplish this and still communicate with us. And another commenter responded that it's actually pretty amazing. Because we are only able to communicate with it still because we have upgraded our sensors on earth and because the Voyager itself is still pointed towards earth.
I agree mostly with your general point, but I want to talk a bit about your example. I think it's okay to mock the Pope because I think religion is silly and ought to be mocked a bit. Of course, if you're Catholic, you might disagree. It's a good example for that reason. However, Catholics have a lot of power in society. They are not as marginalized as many other groups. So the example might not hit for everyone because intuitively, they don't think mocking Christianity or Catholicism is going to cause much harm in a western country where these groups are incredibly powerful.
Appropriation, and/or, as you said, stereotypes and jokes, are often mocking a culture or a people too. If they are a marginalized group, which often they are if they're being mocked, then it can add insult to injury
To clarify, here's a good example: As another commenter pointed out; appropriation is actually about making fun of things that other cultures hold sacred. An example I have heard of (but am pretty ignorant about myself) is wearing a native american feathered headdress.
I have heard it's reserved for specific people that indigenous Americans want to honor with it. It's like wearing a medal as a general. So, wearing a feathered headeess and cosplaying as native is belittling something they hold sacred.

This reminds me of a video I recently watched about how to resist the Trump presidency. Since, he doesn't seem to be swayed by acts of protest like this.

I mean, her campaign was pretty awful in a lot of ways. It started out strong but since the DNC it was misstep after misstep. I dunno about you, but I love hearing the president say they'll only be different than Biden, because they'll have more Republicans in their cabinet. I love hearing they're going to build the wall. I love hearing them talk all the time about the fact that Cheney endorsed them. I love hearing how profracking they are. And I love their silence on the genocide in Gaza. Certainly, sexism and racism plays a role, but let's not kid ourselves here.
