  • wildly different experiences with their parents

Nitpicking a bit here, but you assume what my sister and I lived through was our parents' fault.

It was not: we both went to Catholic school. Let's leave it at that.

  • It's true, but I see more people going to therapy needing more therapy than people who just let time be the proverbial healer.

Again, I'm not talking about trauma so grave you actually need therapy to get you out of your funk, like wartime memories or terrible accidents.

  • My sister went to therapy all her life. I never did.

I may be wrong, but here's my theory: she and I went through the same hardship: I allowed time to let the memory fade away in my brain (it wasn't PTSD-inducing hardship, mind you) but her therapist never let her forget. And now decades later, she's all kinds of messed up and I'm not.

  • Considering what a sad, pathetic Trump simp he is, I doubt you'd have much to punch.

  • I see the rigging of the midterms is proceeding apace, as expected.

  • Don't use CloudFlare then. They're an invasive surveillance capitalist outfit. What did you expect? This is par for the course.

  • When I call my dog, he comes and I kick him, he doesn't come again the second time I call him.

  • I find it fascinating that in today's world, private companies are allowed to decide how long they want to keep the entire populace under surveillance, just like that, without any laws or any judge involved, without the entire thing instantly turning into a giant scandal or people rioting in the street over it.

As a gen-Xer who has known a world where privacy actually meant something people deeply cared about, the world we live in today is frighteningly dystopian.

  • private panopticon

That's the only thing George Orwell got wrong: he envisioned surveillance conducted by the state - i.e. a communist dictatorship, but what we end up with today is surveillance conducted by late-stage capitalist monopolies in cahoots with the state - i.e. a fascist dictatorship.

    Either way, it's a dictatorship.

  • you don’t have the right to make us

Apparently they just take the left.

I don't think the surveillance capitalists are asking for your opinion...

  • Gee, I feel so much better now...

  • OP thinks 2018 Elon was a better man, when all he was was better at hiding who he truly is.

  • A nut called Elon Musk. That blind squirrel gets him on a surprisingly regular basis actually...

  • Grok makes the right assumption, which is this:

Given that DoJ won't release half of the Epstein files, nobody has definite proof of who's a pedo and who isn't. But considering how powerful the men mentioned in the Epstein files are, it is reasonable to assume they can corrupt DoJ into not releasing the dirt, and they have.

Therefore, it is rational to apply presumption of guilt to anybody listed in the Epstein files rather than presumption of innocence. Ergo, Musk is a fucking pedo until proven otherwise. It's plain logic.

Incidentally, considering everybody mentioned in the Epstein files to be pedos by default has one interesting consequence: if somebody with enough influence to sway DoJ is outraged at being associated with Epstein's pedo ring, they can use their influence to publicly ask that the files be released - or at least the parts of the files that concern them - and clear their good name. Right? Well... Notice how none of those fuckers come out to ask their good names cleared...

  • While you're at it, please ditch Hakeem Jeffries too: those two are about as effective at inducing excitement and kindling hope in Democrats as two wet mops left in a bucket for too long.

  • Fat chance. He's quite the fatso. Even in liquid form, he would probably overflow.

  • Pity the taxpayer is paying to fuel up a fully-loaded Boeing 747 and a C-32 to fly this one piece of shit around...

  • I'm not buying this. There's no way in hell this fat orange pile of blubber fits in this.

  • Google Search has been dying for a long time.
