  • Well, they voted for him. So ya know, I'm only mildly heartbroken...

  • Are you a billionaire?

    There's your answer.

  • It can't possibly be a surprise to anybody.

The two signs that Trump never intended to win any other election fair and square are:

    • All he does makes him unpopular. He clearly has zero concern for appearing likable and attracting votes.
    • He said so - and when Trump or his cronies say something, believe them.
  • So now Nvidia shortcuts the circular financing merry-go-round and competes with their customers.

That bubble will make one hell of a pop...

  • Here, I'll save you a click:

Here's a view of Twitter without an account:

  • Admitting that they don't know or they can't do something. Instead, AI will bullshit its way to an answer - any answer.

I use a local LLM - sparingly - at work to code boilerplate and simple stuff I can review, and give me technical advice I can quickly check the validity of (you know, stuff like "which command line argument to do this-or-that). It's okay most of the time.

But it never says "I don't know": instead, it invents shit. And that truly wastes my time on a regular basis.

  • Ole Ben Franklin is particularly relevant here:

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

In other words, Flock can go fuck themselves with a stiff wire brush.

  • I use GitHub. Heavily. VERY heavily. But I only use the git part of GitHub.

    Why? Because:

    • The stuff I host on GitHub is open-source, so it's public, and Microsoft therefore has no monetizable data from me.
    • Since I only use git, I can migrate my repos anywhere else within minutes. Microsoft has no vendor lock-in on me.
    • I waste Microsoft's resources and they have nothing to show for it.
  • This simply shows nobody holds Trump or Putin to any standard.

  • Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer are the Dems' neverending rolling disaster. They need to be ousted.

And while they're at it, they should throw out those two other double-crossing motherfuckers too.

  • And this is a surprise because...?

  • They should be made to do a little of it to know what it feels like.

  • Because they're evil?

I'm not even joking: at this point, they're not even pretending to follow a political logic anymore. They're simply pursuing whatever hurts others for the sheer joy of it. I honestly can't find any other reason for anything they do.

  • Extreme programming is the computer engineering fad of yesteryear. Today's fad is vibe coding. Get with the times...

  • How about urging Trump to protect Americans?

  • The circular financing with NVidia and Microsoft stops. The bubble collapses, sending the world into a mega-recession.

    It's not if, it's when.

The only silver lining is that Microsoft's AI garbage will be hit hard.

  • I'm pretty sure the sarcasm in your comment was totally lost on most people who modded you up. And just for that, have a mod point 🙂

  • your sister probably had a wildly different experience than you did.

How could you possibly know that? Do you know my sister?

We talked about it you know. Rather extensively. We met the same people at around the same time and went through the same kinds of shenanigans.

You think you know more than you do.

  • Like I said, that's just my theory. I can only go by what I know and what I've witnessed.
