  • Here's how I see it: people have himmed and hawwed around while trump's America turns into a hellscape. Horrible things happening by the second, you can't refresh your news fast enough before another tragedy happens. We keep hearing about protesters in Portland, Chicago, Philadelphia. About people delivering groceries and running errands for people who are afraid to leave their house. I've never seen so many people in my town show up to protest. And I'm so fucking proud of these people.

    Then something snaps and people really start showing up, standing outside in 20 below zero to let trump know they don't accept him. And I feel hope for the first time in weeks, months, years.

    And someone comes in and says YOU'RE WRONG FOR FEELING GOOD EVERYTHING ISN'T PREFECT SO THEREFORE EVERYTHING IS WRONG THIS PROGRESS MEANS NOTHING STOP FEELING GOOD YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD

    So, I get where you're coming from but also fuck you.

  • It's been this way for a long time. 20 years ago I was told I came off as angry in my texts. It took me a sec, but I figured out it's bc i put periods at the end of the last sentence.

  • Does anyone feel like using "bros" is divisive? Maybe I'm old but "bros" makes me think of frat boys, not a great association. Seems like sabotage.

  • I'm in Iowa, district is a little too personal so I'm leaving that out, but district is reps, state is sens.

    At one point I've been told I can't call outside my own representatives. I'm unsure if it's enforced.

    I'm hoping maybe there's others like me that will see the list for their own reps and make the call? Wishful thinking.

  • Thomas middleditch, the dude makes my skin crawl. Silicon valley is the only thing I've been able to watch with him, but when he's just on talk shows or being himself i have to skip past. Skeevy is the word that comes to mind.

  • I think this is buy design. Capitalism zaps your energy by forcing you to pay the bills and leaves no energy for fun. Lazy fun means consuming. Food, drugs, tech, media, etc.

  • This is my exact thought. My state recently passed a law requiring drivers' phones to be in hands free mode which means connecting phone to vehicle. Data sharing and security on vehicles is so under regulated. Seems like another way to forcibly track us and sell our info.

  • This is an oversimplification. I have met plenty of people who are progressive or Democrat that believe some pretty wild things about vaccines and western medicine in general. Don't underestimate hippies.

  • Tip on how to internalize material: when studying, every so often, either pretend out loud or find a human person to teach/explain in detail what you just learned. If you're a visual person, use a white board, if you're a movement person, stand up and be expressive.
