  • Some members are too old to want to switch to something else and I need to save my energy for far more important battles.

  • nah, i just visited and fingerprint.com's demo errantly id'd me as having visited 5x previously even though first time.

  • I use Teams flatpak to communicate with family and like a week ago got a prompt "would you recommend this to others?".

I clicked no, and for the reason "Sloppity slop slop slopitty slop" and 3 days later M$ announced they were rolling back Copilot integration in trivial apps. I felt listened to :P

  • I think it would be very fair to ask that product reformulations and size changes should be called out, directly on the packaging, for a few months afterwards.

    Absolutely.

  • No. You're just at different levels of not believing. "While I know Jesus existed I'm just not convinced he was the son of a god" and "There is no way any god exists" will both get you to Hell according to the Bible, or beheaded for heresy depending where and when you are.

  • Like that makes it better.

  • The last thing someone in this state of mind needs is a reminder that this is an easy possibility. A family member drove truck until someone did this to him. He had to go on comp because the PTSD prevented him from driving ever again and to add insult he got addicted to painkillers from his back injury.

This comic is in bad taste for both making light of the subject of suicide and painting the ill person in such an unsympathetic way. If anyone out there is having dark thoughts at least have the decency not to ruin someone else's life in the process. Ideally, get help, but don't do this.

  • I've got a newer (5yo) Maytag that has a silent mode that you can choose either with end beep or without. It resets every power outage which is my only gripe.

  • With 'murican healthcare prices the fatality rate is a feature.

  • Hey, you know what is a good example? Every app not included in the default app repository. But, you conveniently skipped that to make a useless point. GG.

  • Every piece of software that doesn't come with the default repositories, which in many distros includes the 'niche' software of vidcard drivers. Samba network sharing v1, disabled in both Windows and Linux, is a simple double click of the app feature to reenable in Windows. In Linux, you have to change entries in at least 2 files, assuming you can find correct instructions in the first place.

  • TBF it does have a glaring lack of automation for way too much of the basics. Even hand holding distros like Mint will have you using the terminal for something windows just does with a double click.

FTR I prefer Linux over Windows but I still lose it every time installation instructions for some app have 4 pages of commands for the CLI instead of just running an installer that automates the BS.

  • Just started using it. With zero xp posts an article expecting to matter.

I use Thunderbird too, and have so for years. The RSS implementation sucks. It will randomly crap out and autopause all feeds. The data often corrupts rendering the link folder useless and is very difficult to properly purge as the gui process will often fail. You'll have to look up instructions and delete the folders manually. Very disappointing, but better than nothing.

I've been using open source RSS apps from Fdroid and have yet to find one that doesn't have glaring bugs. I don't understand why feed reading is so difficult. Probably that it supports so many forms of media but I'm just a clueless scrub that isn't posting to blogs so what do I know.

  • Coming soon: an onslaught of unstoppable, untraceable robocalls.

  • One oozes charisma, mystery, clearly hates the main villain of the show, and arguably saves the entire Federation by tricking the Romulans to join the war. The other, out of nowhere, replaces a turbo hotty everyone loved and acts like they own the place 80% of the time on screen while expecting way to much credit for simply doing their job.

Gee. I wonder why it's no comparison.

  • I wonder if it has anything to do with linking to Shitter. Guess I'll never know.
