  • Oh my golly — thank you. I spent more than two hours trying to find something that user had posted so's I could access those three fabled dots. Sure hope you spent less time than that!

    Ginormous thanks. :)

  • Comments removed, mods can click from the modlog to the comment. Bans, nope. Clickable links are only what's blue and red — the mod, the user, and the community. Looks to be the same for any community, something I've just learned today. A bit frustrating, but ... oh well.

    [from modlog]

  • That's what I'd expect, but I've been to the page, while logged in, and there's no such trail.

  • Worked for the one I could find, thanks. The other, I'd removed the comment, so it's eternally in the void.

  • Thank you, kind stranger. :)

There's no direct link from the modlog if someone's banned, apparently. I was able to find one by googling to find the post. The second ban I'd like to reverse, I removed the comment, and thus it can't be found.

If anyone has further ideas, I'm all ears like Spock.

  • It's a sadness, but I also have occasional issues with Firefox. It's still the best browser by far, but its share is so small, more and more developers aren't testing their pages in Firefox any more.

Doesn't make no never mind to me. If a page doesn't work in Firefox, I can do without.

  • Won't someone please think of the Nazis?

  • Agreed 105%, plus it's also just plain stupid. Nobody within half a mile of Trump's inner circle has any real competence, so the idea that any/all of them could successfully pull off a faked assassination is probably more absurd than flat earthers telling us the moon landing was rigged.

  • A day later, and it's still too swamped to let me in... I'll keep trying, though.

  • Politically, in our racist and sexist country, the VP probably has to be a white man. If it's not, the ticket loses a few percent of the vote.

  •     OK, so there's this wingnut Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Football) who's angry that the military reimburses officers for travel expenses when they need to go out-of-state for an abortion. Until that rule's changed, Tuberville has vowed to block all military promotions (who knew Senators had that power?) and now the Army, Navy and Marine Corps have no Senate-approved commanders in place.

Other than how it screws over low-ranking officers, I really give no shits at all about Tuberville's blockade. It makes him look like an idiot, and he is an idiot, and I'm pretty sure the Army, Navy and Marine Corps can do all their armying, navying, and marine corpsing without Senate-approved leadership.

But man, I got a laugh out of that "aiding and abetting the Communists" crack.

  • Don't kink-shame.

  • Huh. I'd thought of Vox as being a reasonably reliable site, but handing a page over to a shill and not even telling readers he's a shill... Jeez, even Fox News identifies the shills with a chyron.

  • In what sense is half "fully"?

  • Hope this is the place to ask a sorta specific question of the admins. If not, please tell me where to go. :)

I am considering launching a page for news about America's loony Republicans, similar to the page I'm moderating about crooked cops.

It'll only be news, but the sidebar will include my perfectly factual motto, "Republicans are the enemy of common sense, common decency, and democracy."

My question is, would that violate the rule that mods must "Provide a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone regardless of ... political affiliation"?

Whatever the answer, thank you for Lemmy.World. I'm having a blast here.

  • I'll say the obligatory "Trump's a criminal and needs to be in prison," and I mean it, but mostly I just think it's cool that our page is big enough here to have a megathread.

  • It's the only way Republicans can win.

And it pisses me off that they win by cheating.

  • Why is this even phrased as a question?
