  • Everyone needs to understand one very important thing about unemployment statistics in the US, and that's the definition of "unemployed", which requires someone to 1) not have a job and 2) be looking for a job.

    What this means is, there are two ways lower the unemployment rate in the US: 1) hire people, and 2) wait until they simply give up and stop looking for a job.

    The US is currently exercising the second option to make it look like AI is replacing workers.

I'm not in my career field because I love it, I love what i do because I'm very good at it and mastery is its own reward.

    The internet is a requirement for many aspects of life. The mobile or tablet experience is a cumbersome compromise at best. I'd say there's an argument to be made that using a desktop for required activities would translate to less time spent online overall simply due to the streamlined interface.

    When people talk about an "online detox" paying your regular bills usually isnt the sort of activity people are worried about. I personally don't perceive the value in making this process more difficult for yourself.

    Either way, I hope you get what you're hoping for from your effort.
